View Full Version : Mortgage the future...every year!

If this has already been posted then ban me for life, but why don't we start trading our future first round picks each year in order to move into the late first round, and just let the cycle continue for the end of time. Sure there are problems with this, but since the draft hype for us kinda sucks, why wouldn't it be fun to speculate on this?

The only problem with that is that, by definition, a pick in one slot this year is, by defintion, worth more than the same pick in the same slot next year. You end up losing value with this over time. That is assuming that everybody follow the point for point value system of draft picks. If you can fleece a team every few years into something a little better then you can reset the clock, so to speak.

Sorry you're banned. Forever. Just like the forever into which we'll mortgage our future draft picks. Thanks for the idea though. :)

id love it we actually just straight up traded for a 1st round pick this year by giving up ONLY our 1st next year. Then we wont lose value every year. But that will never happen.

I love that idea just keep giving away pics till the end of time... and the texans trade the number 1 overall pick to the redskins for there number 1 pick in the year 2020,2023,2025

i agree with the OP, the redskins have not used the draft to get depth.. The redskins main approach has been always free agnecy with synder. I think that if we are interested in 1 or 2 players in the draft, i truly do not mind washington forfeiting other picks in the draft
