I didn't see any posts about these guys, specifically what they can do.
Im kind of stuck on 2 guys w/ the #53 pick, I still like Rocky but....these are some others that strike me as gifted and can play multiple positions, which GW loves.
1st player:
Height: 6-3 1/4 | Weight: 239 | 40-Time: 4.42
Official Bio
Strengths:
Amazing athlete with rare speed for the position...Has fluid hips and does a tremendous job when dropping into coverage...Has a great burst and closes fast...Terrific in space and makes plays sideline-to-sideline...Big hitter who will light people up...Changes direction well...Is an excellent pass rusher on the blitz...Very productive...Team leader and hard worker with top intangibles.
Weaknesses:
Gets by on his athleticism and lacks great instincts, which are essential for a linebacker...Can do a better job as a tackler...Struggles when taking on bigger blockers...Needs to hit the weights and get stronger...Doesn't react on the field as quickly as you'd like...Still developing and is not yet a finished product.
Notes:
Began his career with the Miners as a walk-on safety...Father was drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs in 1977 cousin was a member of the musical group En Vogue...A true workout warrior whose measurables are almost off the charts
2nd Player:
Bio:
Class: 2006
Height: 6'5"
Weight: 220lbs
Birthday:
40 Time: 4.51 (estimated)
Positives
- Despite playing defensive end he has more than enough athleticism to drop back to play linebacker. He may actually be on of the faster LB prospects in the country, which makes the fact that he played DE fairly astounding. He’s an excellent pass rusher, racking up 7 sacks and 12 tackles for loss last year, but is also very good in run support. Also, he has great size for an Outside Linebacker.
Weaknesses
- Hasn’t played linebacker since his sophomore year, so there’s going to be a natural readjustment period. The first thing that the team that drafts him will have to work on is his coverage skills, because the speed of the game will have changed a great deal from his last LB duty.
Overall Analysis
- The risk/reward value on him is one of the highest in the 2006 class. He could never meet his expectations due to the inability to return to the LB position at a high level, or he could turn out to be one of the most dangerous linebackers in the league. His ideal situation would probably be in a 3-4, which would having him standing up, but also allow the freedom to rush the passer very, very often.
Reminds You Of: Wille McGinest/D.Ware
Both guys seem to have great athletic abilities. The 1st player seems he could be in the same mold as like Thomas Davis, kind of "tweener", could play safety or Olb. Would contribute right away on Spteams.
The 2nd guy seems to be in more of a need for adding weight but is another player out of the mold of like a Willie McGinest or Damarcus Ware can play DE or Olb
Both guys are very high in the risk/reward dept. So that means they could end up being good, potentially great, or they could be a big BUST.
Who are they?
Could one of these guys actually slip to #53?
Would Gibbs & Co. actually take a guy w/ this much risk?
The 1st guy is Thomas Howard and the 2nd is Manny Lawson.
