Well gents... we got your best linebacker.. and yes he was your best linebacker.... im sure you are mad that Gregg Williams and Joe Gibbs had a falling out with a 3 time probowler who many regard as one of the best young talents in the league still... ahh yes... thanks for Pierce and Arrington... they should have fun this year running over Old man Brunell and having a good time slamming that drag queen portis in the turf along with Osi and Stray... well till the season starts gents:cheers:

There is nothing better than listening to another teams fan brag about getting a one leg superstar. I'll agree that he is a good linebacker but he wasn't the best one

:troll: Don't bother guys...either this guy is truly a troll, or he doesn't know much football. Either way its a waste. One final comment, I'd trade Arrington for Marcus Washington anyday of the week and twice on Sundays.

This is not redskins related you troll dont post garbage like this on The Stadium. And just to inform the ignorant, LaVar was our 3rd best LB. Marcus and Lemar were much better than him.
Use your brain and think about it. If he was so great then why were we so eager to let him go? Exactly.

Watching that interception return by Arrington, against the Bucs, you can just see that he lost a step. He still has great anticipation, but sometimes he anticipates wrong, that is why they got rid of him.
Our defense, has never done better, than the past two seasons, mostly without him. Our D two years ago, was amazing, with no help from Arrington.
If he isn't good enough for Williams and Gibbs....well, I just trust the mental capacity of those two guys. Their decision making is fine by me.

You'll be back on this board in 2 seasons patting us on the back for moving Arrington out. Funny that a player that couldn't make the field for the majority of plays on our defense is now the savior for yours. By the way - we had both of your best LB's on board a few seasons ago - how many playoff games did they win together? Does the nose-dive choke Eli and your team did at the end of last season still sting? Must have sucked having to sit at home and watch the Skins move on to the second round of the playoffs. Guess what - it will be worse for you this year. Can't wait to hear Lavar explain next offseason why he didn't have a bigger impact and if it hurt to see his former Redskin teammates sporting their SuperBowl rings.

I know I should not feed it but it is fun so here we go... We aren't mad because our Best Linebacker (Washington) is still here. Lavar was great when he got here and had real signs of potential but never really turned into more than just the subject of highlight films. He is a fun guy to root for but you will see soon when lavar cost you a few touchdowns because he is out of position that he is not a savior. I think we have done quite nicely evaluating talent lately, Washington, Cooley, Taylor over Winslow, Rogers, and Portis. The difference is coaching, we got it, you dont, just remember the playoffs last year...get ready for much more of the same. Your beloved team just does not have the leadership to go anywhere this year. Face it, if Tiki did not blow up last year you guys would have been fighting for the basement with the Eagles.

I didn't say that it wasn't a great move for the Giants - so therefore "everyone" is incorrect. Gibbs and Williams are better at spotting talent than any fan for one simple reason - they are paid to do it. We see the games - they see the entire picture.

Brunell's may be old, but Eli is a soft faggot. And the Giants will NOT do ANYTHING at all, if Tiki DOESN'T carry the whole offense on his back like he did last year. Your whole offense relies on one person, if he can't get it going, ya'll won't even get a whiff of the Superbowl, so don't brag. Talk to us REDSKINS fans after you can make it past the first round, without getting blown out at home, then you can have the privilege of speaking with us.

thats there fault for not getting a good lemon check :(
The funny thing is this guy was our starter for only half of the games and the games that he played he was a two down lb NEVER playing on 3rd down. I find it kinda funny that a supposedly great pass rusher doesnt play on the 3rd downs, where teams almost always pass.
Not to mention that he has a belly after letting himself go...:(

Hey man, I can't hate. I still like Lavar, he was and always will be one of my all-time favorite Redskins. Of course I hate to see him sign with another NFC East team...but that's how it goes. Maybe he'll keep you guys from losing in the first round of the playoffs at home this year...who knows.
You definitely need him more than us though, seeing as how the Giants ranked 24th in the NFL for total Defense last year...

Not only has he lost a step(as shown all year). 2 examples are in OT San Diego game. Brees throws a dump off pass to Antonio Gates and Gates blows right past LaVar for a huge 20+ gainer. Next play(or a couple plays after) LT runs over Ryan Clark and game over. Second example is TB playoff game. After the tipped ball fell right into his hands, LaVar got tackled at the 6 yard line. If it was old LaVar(or ANY other LB we have on our team), that was an easy 6.
Now I have shown proof and cited examples. You, on the other hand, just talk out your ass and troll.

I kind of agree with the Arch statement. We'll see how he pans our for us.
And you're right about Randle El too. He's basically our 3rd (slot) receiver behind our 2 edge guys Moss and Lloyd. If you think he was brought in to be our No. 1 receiver you're completely misinformed.
Lloyd is another wait-and-see. I think he'll do fine being the no. 2 when the defense has to worry about Moss, Randle El, Portis, Cooley, and Sellers. :)

The Giants have three players: Tiki and Osi and Toomer/Shockey (they almost make a whole player). That's it.
If Eli Manning's name was Eli Johnson he'd be selling parking spaces for arena football. "WAH, WAH he got some many yards" Get over it, a 80 yeard shovel pass to Tiki is not noteworty quarterbacking. And if I were a C-men fan in the latter part of last years' season, I wouldn't of pissed on him if was on fire.

Reminds me of the week before the 2nd Giants game when this place was flooded with Midget fans
35-20, they were all gone
Try and score a point in the playoffs at home, then come troll
You're right about Tom; he's a rational, thinking man's Giants fan, whereas you can smell the fear on this troll...

thats there fault for not getting a good lemon check :(
The funny thing is this guy was our starter for only half of the games and the games that he played he was a two down lb NEVER playing on 3rd down. I find it kinda funny that a supposedly great pass rusher doesnt play on the 3rd downs, where teams almost always pass.
Not to mention that he has a belly after letting himself go...:(
Nice pic comparison. He is definately not what he was a couple years ago. Do you think he has lost some speed? He still weighs the same which means that he has lost muscle mass and gained the weight.
I'm glad he's gone.

GO ahead and overpay for pierce and nice pick up on arrington. Dont ever say he was our best lb when Marcus Washington has been our best player on DEFENSE the last 2 years. I dont think LA could of helped you in the playoffs last year when you guys got SMOKED at HOME against the Panthers.

Yea the comparison is really sad. Pre-Injury LaVar was a freakin' monster while the new LaVar is like a cookie monster! lol. Yea he has gotten slower. Its a fact. I cited two example last year. Antonio Gates blew right past him on 3rd down in OT, and He was struggling trying to score on that INT in TB playoff game. If that was Marcus or Lemar they would've EASILY scored. The funny thing is that after the TB game the team was making fun of him for not scoring! lol!

This is good, Giants fans already talking the talk.
We will see how well the Giants "TRY" and run over Brunell
and we will see how they will "TRY" to slam Portis.
The Giants are the defending NFC East champs, so they should worry more about getting knocked off their division throne before dreaming of going to a Superbowl. So go ahead and overlook the Redskins. Yeah the Redskins can't possibly beat the Giants now that they have Lavar.. keep on thinking that.

On top of all of this, it wasnt Lavar that picked off Manning and made Shockey look stupid. It wasnt Lavar that caught 3 touchdown passes. It wasnt Lavar that ran and threw for a touchdown, and it wasnt Laver that caught the touchdown that our RB threw. Lavar was not Portis, Lavar was not Moss, Lavar was not Marshall.
Truth is those are the players that beat you guys last year. Everyone played a part of course but when was the last time Lavar made a big play against the Giants??? We will be the same team, if not a signifigantly improved team the next time we play NY. Just as long as your owner doesnt die right before your game vs. us we should be fine.

Congrats on the pickup, lavar had some great seasons for us before the injury. He didnt play too well last year due to him not being totally healthy (takes 2 years to get back to full speed after knee injuries). I expect Lavar will have a great season for you guys. Only thing is GW has seen LAs shortcomings and im sure will exploit is over agressiveness. The NFC East is just loaded.... what a season we have coming up. Wow I haven't posted on the site for a while as I try to deal with the fact that LaVar is gone. Regardless of what anyone says IF LaVar's knee is fully healed then he will be a force to reckon with. Anyone that knows sports knows knee injuries take about 2 years to fully heal. Whatever step he had lost was a direct result of that injury. Also anyone that feels that Marcus is better than LaVar well to each his own. We are entitled to thier opinion. Personally I feel we will miss #56 I know I will. Yes Gibbs and Williams have SuperBowl experience but at times a coaches ego can get out of hand just as a players. Both sides were wrong in the LaVar situation and I would like to end this post with 1 parting thought. Any player that leaves the skins often become Pro Bowl Players, Desmond Howard, Stephen Davis, Stan Humphries, Trent Green to name a few I fully expect LaVar to become the dominant player he was a few years ago and something is telling me between Pierce and Arrington Brunnell won't last..........

Ok i'm gonan stick up for the giants here and just randomly respond to some things i read in this thread.
We got shut out in the playoffs, but we also had 1 second string LB starting and the rest were 3rd string scrubs and guys signed off their couch(phifer). Not being able to stop the run sucks and you can't do much when you only have the ball for like 18 minutes.
To whoever said strahan is old I'm pretty sure he's a year or 2 younger than Brunell.
The giants did an MRI on LA's knee before signing him so I highly doubt it's bad at all. Will he help the giants? Probably. Are the skins better off without him? Probably.

Here's how I see it. We let Pierce go where he wanted to because it would have been an insult to Marcus Washington if we had paid him more. That's how we felt at the time and that's how the organization still feels about Marcus. Pierce was a talent, but there were other guys on our roster who were fully capable of filling his void.
Lavar Arrington is different. He may be one of the most physically talented players in the NFL. He had some great seasons here, but the bottom line was that he was injured the last two. Lavar is a team player when things are going well for HIM. I think he would have been happy with the Skins losing, as long as he made the pro bowl and got to hang around the ESPN studios doing cheesy reality shows.
The redskins had their best season in years in 2005, yet Arrington was never unhappier. He wasn't playing, so that was the only thing on his mind. Arrington will be happy in NY as long as thing's are going well for HIM. The second he sees trouble, he'll revert to being the selfish, me-first martyr he was here the last two years. Remember, Lavar's belief is that the success of the team is subordinate to his own personal success. Have fun.

First of all-
The Giants are not even a concern- the Cowboys are more dangerous in my opinion. Giants fell apart down the stretch- they are average at best.
Second of all- the Giants now have two underachieving whiners in their starting lineup. Arrington and Burress both have the tools to be the best at their positions but they are both missing essential qualities: character, intelligence, and a team-first mentality. They are both perfect examples of unrealized potential- and I hope they stay that way.
I used to love Lavar like most Skins fans- but this year really left a sour taste in my mouth when he chose to challenge Joe Gibbs..... I would have wished him well and rooted for him had he ended up in JAX, MIA, CLE, or anywhere else. But the fact now remains- he is a NY Giant now and I really hope he wrecks his knee!
I am originally from NJ and I hate all things that are Giant-Blue. Lavar is the enemy now and I will view him as such.

Eli Manning threw 4 ints or so and lead his team to an amazing 28-0 loss. In the playoffs. At home. In the first round.
He's pretty badass.

Probably.
Dude, mad respect on not flaming. And before you complain about your guy's injuries our offense for the playoffs didnt have our 2nd or 3rd string receivers, Mark Brunell's knee(and when he loses his knee, turns to absolute garbage) and Clinton Portis couldnt take a hit because both his shoulders were severely injured. Not to mention our secondary being depleted. And Randy Thomas(arguably our best offensive linemen) was injured. So dont talk about injuries because yes you guys had injured lbs, but we had an injured TEAM!

Lavar had potential. He still does. He has the potential to go rogue and rush the passer when the fullback goes right past him on a third down play and catches the ball for - oh... let's say 40 yards and sets up a game winning score.
Lavar has the potential for blitzing right past a running back running the ball right past him because he is so single minded on seeing the QB he doesn't recognize an inside handoff or draw until way too late
Lavar has the potential for missing the signals regarding screens and flat passes - often
Lavar has the potential for pursuing at bad angles and not covering gaps
I can't argue about Pierce - I respected him a lot more for what he did with the little ability everyone gave him credit for... although I detest his mouth he was a good player for us
Lavar was nothing but a disappointment to me... I high fived my wife when he got released and told her the albatross is gone... he was our defenses' TO in my opinion... in fact, I scared the heck out of my wife on Apr 1 by telling her LA resigned with the Skins... she panicked ::grin:: I paid for that for a while I can tell ya.
One thing that should make you worry - you may have the sickest front 7, but the offensive weapons the Skins have now will be capable of eating your back 4 up badly. We have a great starting 4 set of WR now, a TE that is incredible and a RB that is just getting better as he learns the system and gets it adapted to him.
Oh yes... I long for the days of Bruce and Lavar both rushing past the running back carrying the ball (handed off right in front of both of those egotistical boobs) and having the worst right side on most any defense.. something like 5+ yards per carry over the whole year.
Say what you will troll bogie... LA will suck down your cap space and not return your investment.

I wanna beat those mother ****ers, with AP and Arrington, at the Meadowlands next season. That way they can make no excuses and are likely swallowed into the abyss of their brutal opening 7 games, and AP and Arrington can go cry to comfort each other and cry about how much of a loving family the Giants are, and how unfair it is that the Redskins beat them up.
Both AP and Arrington sold us out, they betrayed the code of the warrior, they betrayed Master Gibbs, and that is unforgivable.

Wow, this went 11 pages? We all know that Lavar has done little, if anything for us the past couple of seasons (especially when he was injured pretty much all season last year). Marcus Washington is the man, plain and simple.
Besides, with Al Saunders calling the offensive plays it's going to be easy picking of the Giants' secondary. Pierce, Osi, Strahan, and Arrington will watch helplessly as the ball flies over their heads and into the hands of Santana Moss, Patten, Lloyd, Randel El, and many more. Their secondary doesn't have a chance, it will be beautiful.
Living in northern New Jersey, I watched year after year of their cocky attitudes and their superbowl victory parties already scheduled... and then at mid-season they realize it ain't happening. Oh boy and last season, when they got raped in the Meadowlands by the Panthers in the first playoff game... I had about 2 months worth of fun on my Giants-worshipping friends.
A twelve pack says that I'm going to be laughing at big blue again this coming season
:gaintsuck
EDIT: Yes I understand there were injuries that giants fans point to as the holy excuse for not fulfilling their divine right of going to the superbowl. But every team gets injuries, especially at the end of the season. It's the teams that overcome the most that gets to superbowl. Skins limped in after being forced to get 5 wins in a row to get into the playoffs by the skin of their teeth. They managed to get through the first round and show a respectable performance against the Seahawks. Giants.... 0 points and it was a home game in the first playoff round. If the team can't manage to get past injuries then the team isn't going anywhere.
But yeah, still going to be laughing it up next season when all the trolls and other dillusional fans get slapped in the face... again. And all the trolls can point at our QB all they want, but the thing is that our back-up is our fresh rookie from Auburn and Todd Collins if necessary.... I believe the G-men have our Hasselbeck as the 2nd stringer, I think somebody else is in a lot more trouble in the event the starting QB gets hurt ;)

Pretty weak. You're old stubborn coach couldn't get along with his players, remember? They changed what they were doing to fit with him because his ways work.
Lavar couldn't see fit to do that for Joe Gibbs, who's light years ahead of Tom Coughlin in terms of leadership, coaching and accomplishments to date. 'Grats on adding such a player to your team.

The funny thing is that after the TB game the team was making fun of him for not scoring! lol!

I think most of the fans who hate Arrington have hated him since 2003 when he stopped acting like Mr Redskin and acted like Mr Arrington. Most fans think of Arrington and Pierce as backstappers because of the way they bad mouthed Washington. Heck even Arrington got done saying he wanted to be a Redskin 4 Life and then he gives back 4 million and leaves. I have noticed a great turnaround in the players attitudes from the days of Turner and Spurrier to the days of Gibbs. Every player is part of a team, part of one common goal. Arrington and Pirece are two ex Redskins who bad mouthed a team that now has class and a winning atmosphere. There is no excuse for that and that is why most fans think of them as backstappers not because they left as free agents.
I do agree though that any Skins fan who disses a ex Skins player just because he goes to another team is a hypocrite because of the the free agents the Skins bring in every year. That said I think Pierce and now Arrington were different stories.

Not too sure what a "backstapper" is but oh well. Come on man, everyone LOVED lavar in 2003. You all even loved him this season. Dont you remember all the signs, and "we want Lavar" chants at fedex? Was that because you all desperately wanted to put a fat, slow, freelancing OLB in the game???? um no. It was because you couldnt cause turnovers and you knew Lavar could.
Players need to look out for #1. If they dont, theyre stupid. If theres a better situation out there you have to take it. And honestly you can't sit there and assume that Lavars dislike for the redskins is completely unwarranted. I mean Ramsey has every right to talk trash about the team and gibbs. They lied to him. But was it necessary for LaVar to say he was going to retire a Redskin? IF he was so unhappy, then why even put it out there knowing it won't happen? Obviously the Skins didn't want him here.. but there has got to be a reason for this. I trust Gibbs & Co. made the correct decision. Lastly, if youre not with us, you're against us. Now that Lavar is playing for division rival, any hatred I have for him is fair game.

Everyone in the country knows he was lied to. But everything with Lavar happened behind closed doors. So dont sit there and assume that he is completely unjustified.
Actually alot of Skins fans may of liked him but I didnt. After Gibbs came on board Arrington acted like a complete jackass and his continuing freelancing problems only made me hate him more. Dont say "you all" when alot of Skins fans liked him but alot also wanted him gone.
Arrington cant talk anything bad about the Skins if he cant even follow Gregg Williams defense so how can he run his mouth? As for Ramsey he got every chance to win the job in 2004 but couldnt ,and in 2005 he played like **** in preseason and had 2 fumbles and a INT in less than a half of football vs Chicago in the season opener.
Ramsey was a good guy and is the complete opposite of Lavar Arrington. Ramsey supported Brunell last season like any backup should even when he could of been pissed that he wasnt the starter. Brunell should of made the Pro Bowl last season and got robbed by Vick. Ramsey just wasnt as good and has some flaws but when he came in vs the Giants he showed lots of improvement. I wish Patrick Ramsey the best but Lavar Arrington I wouldnt give a glass of water if he was on fire.
Using the word troll is just so pathetic. " Heh , guys , this guy is SUCH a troll lets humiliate him with our fantasy related humour". Yes i know everyone uses it but everyone touches themselves doesn't me it should be on the internet.....................MY POINT STILL STANDS.
Look at G G G G-mens posts they are just stupid and pointless. He just runs his mouth trying to piss Skins fans off rather than making points to back up his opinion. He is a Class A troll.:gaintsuck

He said that to raise his market value in free agency. Lavar's not dumb. He was getting some bad press, and saying that made him look like the good guy. Very similar to T.O's apology to Andy Reid. In T.O's case the bad press was certianly warranted, but I dont think anyone can sit here and say that Lavars was for sure. He was looking out for himself, which is the right thing to do.
I do agree with you about hating him now that hes with the Giants. By all means thats fine, I just have a problem with everyone saying he never did anything for the skins....blah blah blah....when 2 years ago they wanted to induct him in the hall of fame

I want to comment on the guy who said that the GINTS lost to Carolina because they couldn't stop the run, because all their linebackers were hurt. Where was Osi, Strahan and Clancy? Aren't they the first wave to stop the run?
Dude needs to learn more about football than taking an injury report from FOX Sports commentators

I like all the comments about the Giants owners dying and the fact that they had 9 home games.
They play the Saints again at home this year. I think Tags and the NFL should give the home game to the Saints and force the Giants to play 9 on the road this year.
it's only fair.

Why is it the giants fault that the NFL couldn't find another place to play that game?

The Giants would have beaten the Saints ANYWHERE.
However, the owner dying was clearly a set up.

Ahh but young Jedi, LA was once The Top College Recruit coming out of Penn State in the '90's. Do you truly believe that he could've fallen so far in 7 years? Is this athlete extraordinaire done at the grande olde age of 28?! :ha:
you are the epitome of a stupid ***, ignorant new york sports team fans. You are all retarded. There is no way in hell Arrington was our best lineback; he didnt even start until halfway through the season. Wait till Portis trucks the **** outta him and show that he is past his prime. I love LaVar but he will not dominate like he used to. He will be good but not great. Yea and im gonna watch old man Brunell throw bombs to moss, randle el, and lloyd. Who do you have to cover them you ****?

Odd. I never saw the Giants as being a 'good linebacker' away from the superbowl. Lavar is an upgrade for sure, but being shut out in the first game of the playoffs wasn't because Lavar wasn't on the team. Think again.

You're stupid. LaVar rode the pine. Our D ranked among the best without him. Good luck with that knee of his.
GIANTS SUCK.
concise...to the point...correct...I LIKE IT!!!

I agree but why should the giants be punished for something they had no control over?

The Giants are old. They better hope Eli plays much better this season than he did at the end of last season b/c their window is closing fast. Tiki, Toomer, Strahan...how many more good seasons could they have left? Now they've added another player who's begun the slide in Lavar.

i never said that they should be punished. i said that they got an advantage last year. that was then, what is past has passed. the only way it ever comes up is when people discuss what happened last year and it has no bearing on the upcoming season. frankly, it was such a glaring mistake by the NFL i would like to forget that it ever happened.
