So I wake up this morning and my t.v. won't turn on. Im thinking it is just the socket that it was plugged into because nothing will turn on from that certain socket. So I move my Xbox to a different socket and it works. I then move my t.v. to the same socket and it doesn't turn on. So is my t.v. screwed? Im so pissed right now. I hate my apartments because the storm only affected a certain number of sockets in the apartment. The t.v. in the living room won't turn on either. Is my t.v. pretty much fried?

No, but it was a nice little t.v. I had purchased over the summer. One of my roommates has a spare t.v. of mine. Guess Im going to have to ask for it back.

Newer TVs have reset commands you can issue by certain inputs on the remote. Call their support line.

Some will reset if you leave it unplugged for 15 minutes.

I had the same problem about a week and a half ago. A pretty severe electrical storm hit my area and it completely shot my television set. I haven't gotten it to work since then.

I was thinking the same thing  But seriously...contact customer support and see if it's an easy fix. It might only need a new fuse or needs to be unplugged for a bit. who knows...It would be worth dealing with those people then to waste a good tv set.
