well, that must be the play that was posted before, with Lloyd ducking from the ball lol....I have to admit that was pretty funny....but isn't he the same guy who had 140+ yards on the Cowboys in one game?

I like how people like to take 1 play as a defining characteristic of a player. If that's the case ... then this guy must have sucked and fumbled all the time:

Funny thing is most people on this board really do believe that guy sucked and that his line did everything for him.

That's not true at all. You may find a handful of homers that believe that but I'd say that anyone who pays attention to the NFL should know that Emmit is one of the all-time great backs the league has seen. Also, the Lloyd clip isn't working for me either.

Those people are stupid. Not every runningback is Barry Sanders, who create something out of nothing.

The whole point of running the ball is to use your linemen to your advantage, which Emmit obviously did. He's not better than Payton though.

I'm guessing by the words in the link that it's the one of him dodging the football? Someone on here has that as their sig I believe. I laughed my ass off when I saw that. Let's hope Al Saunders cures him of that....makes him look like Terry Glenn or something....;)

Agreed, Emmitt was a beast, pure and simple.

The link won't work for me either but I'm fairly certain I know which play it is. It was ugly, but it's also possible he thought the ball was going to someone else. You never know wtf to expect with those QBs throwing to you.

He did torch the boys. One thing I found particularly intereseting, him taking that short pass 80 yards and pulling away from Newman. The same Newman that ran down Randy Moss from behind. Either Newman was seriously slacking or Lloyd's a whole hell of a lot faster than people give him credit for. I know he was a 4.6er at the combine, but he SAID he was sick and in fairness to him, his college still lists his offical time at 4.44 or so. I'm really anxious to see this kid in a real offense.

I still think this guy faked an injury during our last game against them....he supposedly had a concussion, and then was on the sideline jumping up and down clapping like a sissy.

oh I was playing on the faking the injury part, I just found it funny how he was doing that on the sidelines lol. But yea, I wonder what he'd do if the option of him running to the left is deleted. Him and Tiki both took advantage of that left side.

Tiki's still a beast though,he's tough. Alexander isn't. I think he might struggle a bit without Hutch this year.

That's true. I think he might "barely" break the 1500 yard margin this year, IF, he even gets to that point this season. I think their defense will have more control than the Offense. The defense was good last year, and now they have Julian Peterson.

Tell me about it. Their two rookie LBs were freakin amazing last year. With Hamlin back and Peterson in the fold, combined with their fast, penetrating D line is going to get some serious pressure on QBs this year. I think the only question mark would be CB depth but a good pass rush can do wonders for your coverage.

He had a great game against us but you must have that play mixed up with another team. He never caught a short pass for 80 and pulled away from Newman. Henry had him the whole game and he burned Henry for about a 20 yard fade...

I'll answer, Emmitt. I still think Barry was one of the greatest of all time but we just don't know how he would've done were he ever on a playoff prepared and built team. We'll never know, but we all know Emmitt always rose to that challenge so I'll go with Emmitt.

SF fans may call Lloys alligator arms sure. but as a Redskin it remains to be seen. on the other hand your veteran "reciever" glenn is known league wide for his alligators versus the Skins.

it was hilarious watching she glenn look over his shoulder at ST during the game at FedEx, looking like the kid that just got bitched out of his lunch money. then the next week glenn scores a TD and acts like hes some kind of beast.

he suffers from situational reality. maybe you will get lucky and glenn will go to a shrink this offseason and get hypno therapy for his diarreah inducing fear of Sean Taylor.

Well regardless of whether or not it was Henry, it was about an 80 yard play and Lloyd absolutely killed him, caught it at the 50, and was off to the races. As he slows down toward the end zone, I think it's Newman catching up to him with the white sleeves. If Henry's #42, I'm sure that's him. But watch the vid, it definately closer to 80 than 20. :D
http://video.google.com/videoplay?d...5&q=lloyd+49ers

Regardless the NFC East is damn good this year and I'd love to see three of us go just to piss everyone off and show we are the best division in football, possibly even an NFC East battle in the conference game?

As much as I hate the rivals, I think that would almost be as good as watching them all suck and either miss the playoffs or get (cough) shut out in the first round....:silly:

IMO Barry had the most talent/skill of any running back ever. If I HAD to give it to a back on any one play and expect him to make something out of nothing, it'd be him. However, I respect Emmitt and all of them nonetheless.

Honestly, if you had to break it down, it wouldn't really matter because the payton's, smith's, barry's, brown's, etc. were all so unbelievably amazing and good at THEIR game, they could all break it loose everytime and are really all the best in their own right. Records are great and all, but the above-mentioned guys are pretty much a league of their own and too hard to compare/say who is better.

O.K. so that was Lloyd ..I thought it may have been Battle.. it was like 90 yards actually which would explain his gaudy stats.. he caught a bomb at about the 50 burning Henry... Newman.. out of position, tried to run him down. He also caught a 20 yarder.. that had to be Henry's worst day as a Cowboy.

Anybody got the video of Brokeback Nation's newest starting LG Kyle Kosier getting blown up by Lavar? You tell me which you find more embarrassing, a WR ducking at a ball thrown too early and behind him or a pulling RG will all the momentum on his side getting absolutely planted by a hobbled LB.

I said it back then and I'll say it again now, I would take Emmitt 100 times out of 100 over Barry Sanders. Sanders was dynamic, exciting and electric but IMO he was the football version of Dave Kingman. Emmitt was a tough everydown back with great vision that was best in the 4th quarter. The Dallas line was a big reason for his success but he would have been successful behind any line. Sanders would break off some huge runs but the fact that Detroit had to bring in short-yardage specialists for him because he couldn't get the tough yards spoke volumes. I believe that Sanders only had one 100 yard game against the Skins and that was because he broke a long run late in a 30-7 loss in 1996 or 1997. Smith regulary punished the Skins.

There are only two backs I would put ahead of Smith and those are Jim Brown and Walter Payton.
