Notebook: Bad news, league; Big Ben's even better
Here's something any team not named the Pittsburgh Steelers doesn't want to hear: Ben Roethlisberger is a much better quarterback now than he was last season.

Most players are better now than last season. They are healthier and have another year of expeience.
He should have signed this one Pittsburgh Pete. :jerk:

If his performance in Super Bowl XL* was any indication, the rest of the league doesn't have much to worry about.

I'm sleeping fine! :D The asterisk was a joke, but my point about Ben's performance was dead serious.

Pete Prisco picked Arizona to win the west last year

AZ is a chic pick, for some reason. There are people picking them to be this year's surprise team and taking either 1st or 2nd in the NFC West. I just don't see it. Not yet.
Jeez, I just looked at that Prisco article! He wrote a paragraph each about two playoff games and barely even mentioned the Super Bowl. Talk about selective! He was either bad in that game because he was just blowing chunks that day, or he was bad because he was stymied by the Seahawk defense. Any coaching staff worth their salt will be watching that tape as part of their preparation, at least early in the season. Shutting down Ben is do-able -- it's been done.

Because they've been so bad for so long, people just assume they have to get better at some point.

This team goes where the running game takes them and for some reason I really don't trust "Fast" Willie Parker to have a repeat performance next season, this guy is the most overrated back in the league...Cowher really shoulda drafted an RB to groom. Parker won't be able to carry the load and we all know about Duce "Mr. Glass" Staley. 2006 was a magical season for the Steelers, no doubt...will they repeat...highly unlikely in my opinion.
