Apparently the Raptors are looking to trade Charlie Villanueva....I think the guy has a lot of potential and really turned it on at the end of the year. Avg'd 13/6 in under 30min a game this year as a rookie.

Think he'd be a decent fit? Maybe if something happened to Jamison in a trade, I think he'd be a real good young replacement.

Eh, doesn't really fill a need for us.

First of all, Toronto is not trading him because he makes squat on a rookie deal and fits in niocely with Bosh. Secondly, only Butler or Arenas would equate to equal trade value for Charlie V, and that trade aint happening. Jamison has lower value than Charlie V.

He was named to the all-rookie team

Arenas = Villanuva? Youre nuts. Nowhere near the same value. I think he would be a great replacement for Jamison if we did end up moving him this offseason to someone somewhere. Could get him for Hayes and a pick I bet.

This was on ESPN insider. Funny, you insist they coexist well, but the point expressed was that Villanueva is better suited for Bosh's position and that having them both on the court together is limiting both of them, and Toronto is exploring trading him for a pick to address other needs. Opinions are like aholes I guess.

Hmmmm....

It's essentially Jamison for Villanueva and MoPete. Bonner and Araujo as salary fillers.

I'm not saying the Raptors would do it, but there is sense to it, as it gives them a guy in Jamison who is a natural SF and would compliment Bosh very nicely. They're probably hard pressed to trade MoPete, but he has 1 year left and he'd likely leave next summer anyway so at least they get something for him.

From our side of things we get big time cap relief as all four players have 1 year left, and Villanueva is a more natural PF than Jamison. Peterson gives us either a good starter of an excellent reserve.

Now that I think about it if we threw in the 18th pick I could very well see the Raptors making this move...

seems like an awfully drastic move that would send the wiz back to the lottery.

Jamison is what makes the wizards win (and lose at the last second, but still).

Toronto traded Villanueva for TJ Ford.

Villanueva is good, IMO. Athletic, tough, and has an inside game to match his perimeter skills.

Next to Blatche, I think he was the most underated player in the 05 draft.:2cents:

I guess i just like those New York kids, Especially New York bigmen. The just have this toughness.

I wish Ramos had played ball in NY instead of going to Puerto Rico.

Seems like Uconn guys always underperform with the Huskies (except for Butler) and then tear it up in the league.

I guess we will see if this continues with Gay and Boone.

Gilbert and Caron should knock out Haywood, tie him up, take him down to Brooklyn and drop him off at a basketball court to play.
