Lets ease off the keyboards for a minute and marinate on the Wizards for a moment.

Sure their record dipped a bit from 04-05, but they were adjusting to a grip of new players, all looking to make major contributions.

Turning point: Inserting Caron Butler into the starting line-up, from that point on, the wiz went from seven games under five hundred, to the fifth best record in the east. Placing Daniels on the bench ressurected what everyone was calling a "bust" of a season. He became the only bench option in the playoffs and came up huge in game five of the Lebron series

Injuries: Everyone's favorite Power-Forward-lauriate Etan Thomas was recovering from a long time away from the court with an abdominal strain. Haywood battled back spasms, Butler sat out several games with ankle issues and Jarvis Hayes wore a suit for most of the year. While the big guys ('tawn and Gilbert) stayed relatively healthy, the team wasn't totally absent from injury. I feel like with Jarvis able to pump in 10-20 points off the bench, the wiz take 5-6 more games that year. How about another athletic forward to throw at the Paul Pierces, Ray Allens, Lebrons and Dwyanes?

Why dwell on minute things? Simple. This team is in no need of dealing all of their pieces for some injury prone, past his prime stiff (Kenyon Martin) or some flightless draft pick, or some white guy. This team can and will win.

If adjustments were the big problem in the beginning of the 05-06 season, why should the wiz cripple themselves trying to add another cadre of personnell who will have to adjust to Gilbertology, Jamison floaters and Haywood's "post moves?" Shouldn't Ernie and the fam simply re-sign Jared-Jeff, add roller-players to the bench, draft a couple of hungry team-first guys and finally set off "La Bomba" to make this offseason a success?

Yes.

I'm with you. We dont need to trade anyone. Keep the core together, add a big man, La bomba, 2 solid rookies and we'll be fine.

This team needs 3 solid big men on the roster to compete with the best teams in the East. Haywood could be #3, but we need a #1 and a #2. We need to do whatever is necessary to get them. Thomas' feet are too slow and body too short to defend in the paint. Jeffries is not the inside force we need. Butler and Jamison are small forward twins, we don't really have a power forward.

Detroit has two centers and Miami has two centers. Any of the four are better than all of our big men combined. We can't win until we get strong and quick in the middle.

I agree for the most part but we we do need to overhaul the bench.

Wilcox would be awesome but Seattle will match just about any offer he gets. We had a chance to get him and couldn't.

Yep. Too bad cause he would fit into our offense and rotation perfectly.
