http://games.espn.go.com/nba/features/traderesult?players=991~366~402~2794~1980~851~2200&teams=27~29~20~20~29~6~20
Washington gets:
Sam Dalembert
Philly gets:
Eddie Jones
Hakim Warrick
Marquis Daniels
Dallas 1st Round Pick
Memphis 1st Round Pick
Memphis 1st Round Pick 07
Dallas gets:
Etan Thomas
Washington 1st Round Pick
Memphis gets:
Allen Iverson
Jarvis Hayes
Why for Washington:
Unload Thomas's contract. Get a shotblocking defensive pest of a C in Dalembert.
Why for Dallas:
Unload Daniels who is in Coach Johnson's doghouse. Move up in 1st round.
Why for Memphis:
AI. AI. AI.
Why for Philly:
Unload AI and Dalembert. Get a lot of young, cheap talent and draft picks, as well as Jones's $14 Mil off the books in 07.

You have the Wiz giving up Thomas, Hayes, AND our 1st rounder for only Dalembert?

I wouldn't do it, but thats probably what it would take.

LOL you are kidding right? We have to give up a 1st rounder AND take on that huge contract? Whatever no way Ernie even thinks about it that way.

The 1st rounder isn't a lotto pick or anything. It's the 18th pick in what seems like the weakest draft since 2001(the one where you know who went 1st).
Like I said, I wouldn't do it, but that is probably what we and all the other teams would have to give up for this kind of trade to work.

Okie I understand.
But on the draft:
The 18th pick is 2 picks out of the lotto, there is plenty of talent there, such as Shawne williams from Memphis.
It is weak, for sure, too weak to draft by need only, but not so weak that it still could be good to draft best player available.
Now, a 1st for a real talent, like Gerald Green, Channing Frye or JR Smith, or even Josh Smith, I would be down with that. Granted we may need to sweeten the pot more than the trade example, but that is the level of potential I am looking for, I just don't know about Dalembert, and I really really don't want to take someone with a contract that big that we didn't give them

Dalembert sucks, Gilbert almost stuck him in his lanky jaw back in '03. He actually waited outside of Philly's lockerroom.
DONT TEST THE GAWD

Check this out:
Indiana: Samuel Dalembert, Jamal Mashburn
Philadelphia: Ray Allen, Jermaine O'Neal, Danny Fortson
Seattle: Jared Jeffries, Allen Iverson, Etan Thomas
Washington: Chris Wilcox
Sure Philly becomes stacked for a year, but it's pretty damn even-handed.

I don't think you can trade guys with O YRL unless you have their Bird Rights or they're RFA.

absolutely, my jaw would drop in disbelief if we could pull that off. It sounds like Villanueva and the #1 over all pick are going to Indiana for Jermaine O'neal though... Bosh ain't goin no where it seems.

Actually the Lakers are getting the extreme short stick on this trade. I could actually see the Raptors doing that if they got a draft pick or something.

Yeah, I couldn't see LA doing that, but who knows, they gave us Caron for free

why don't we just sign chris wilcox in the offseason rather than trading etan and jared for him. after we sign wilcox then we can trade them for others
