Well Check this out

He gave us the 2nd lowest draft ranking, he was real high on us drafting Alexander Johnson from what I saw in his "Draft Sleepers" video. Well hell, so was I.
Kerr also says Oleksiy was a "Stretch at 18, many scouts had him pegged as a 2nd rounder."
From what I can read, NO ONE had him as a 2nd rounder in this draft, some analysts (ie: Kerr) are still saying he is 210 pounds, when Oleksiy has been 230 since last year. LAST FREAKING YEAR.
A lot of people talk about his "athletic limitations" when I've read just as much saying he is "quick off the floor and gets up on his jumper and turnaround."
No one is saying he is Amare Stoudamire, but most say his rebounding comes from his agility and leaping ability, not his bulk. So which is it Stevie?
I really wonder how much some of these guys even look into these foreign players.
I'll admit I had heard very little on Pecherov, but before I started yelling at the TV (and I did yell- Well this guy better be good, because of how many people were still on the board - actually I ran around my house and was quite upset.)
Then I calmed down and did some research, AND trusted our FO. All I remember was the "analysts" saying Paul Pierce has slow feet and Andray Blatche has no toughness and is too skinny (he now is on the top end of 250)
It is odd to me when I hear some foreign scouts call Oleksiy athletic and a good leaper, and then I hear guys like steve kerr call him a perimeter threat only with no ability to score inside because of his "Athletic Limitations" ???
Oh well, what else is new.

I actually like what I've heard about Oleksiy, Jay Bilas likes him and that is a big thumbs up by me, and all the foreign scouts call him a diamond in the rough and quite athletic and a good dunker in the paint.
Who would you have rather had us pick? Just wondering, I really don't follow these foreign guys as much as I should I guess.
Did you want Boone?
Don't worry about PJ man, he is coming along just on schedule. He looked awesome in the NBDL when I saw him last year.

Dude isn't coming over to america for at least 2 years, he is nowhere close to NBA ready and they already have two young athletic centers ahead of him.
Sene was the worst pick of the draft, only because Seattle who doesn't need him drafted him.

Steve Kerr must hate white people.
...I think it's pretty hard to judge our draft - anytime you pick two random European guys, it's going to be a little bit of a guessing game, but that's really what the Wizards have to do now. It's hard to say that an 18th pick is *wasted* - when we're picking a bit later we just have to take chances on PJR, Oleksiy, Veremeenko, and whatever, and hope we can get lucky. Highly touted prospects like Kwame Brown don't always work out anyways, and it's definitely better to be in a position where we're just trying to get lucky and find that last piece of the puzzle rather than trying to draft a franchise player.

Who cares what Steve Kerr thinks....everyone has their opinion and it doesn't sound like his was made with a lot of facts to support it....oh well.

Steve Kerr's an idiot for wanting us to take Alexander Johnson. He sucks. But I was mad we didn't take Marcus Williams.

I know I lost all respect for him after that game. It wasn't just that he couldn't stop Jai, he couldn't score either!
I know Uconn guys have the rep of stepping it up in the NBA after underperforming in college, but Boone has Bust written all over him. Only Rudy Gay and Hilton will be greatish and good, respectively.
Hilton is more of a finesse perimeter player, he needs to prove to me he can finish hard at the rack for me to believe in him, the same way I felt about Channing Frye before last season.
I like Oleksiy, he plays with a mean streak and can finish at the rim in addition to the nice mid range shot.
I have to switch from DirectTV to Comcast this week, and I think it is going to be happening right when the TSVL Vegas games are gonna be happening, I think I'm gonna miss a lot, I hope highlights are on TV.
Andray is going to dominate in Vegas, he and Donnel played really well last year (I had a highlight vid of him and Donnel in Vegas on my old computer which is fried  , it is on some message board somewhere on the Internet, a TVSL board I think. I'll search for it, but I don't know what the TVSL boards do as far as archiving)
Donnel was throwing down tomahawks left and right, all those dunks he missed in the regular season were going down for him last summer - he really has mad hops, I'd like to see him in the dunk contest. Andray was playing really well too.
Andray played 3 weeks in the NBDL and was the Player of the week all three weeks. That is more than Martell Webster, Gerald Green, Monta Ellis or any of the other HSchoolers who spent time in the minors can say.
PJ didn't have a spectacular Vegas league last year, he really didn't come into his own until halfway through the NBDL season around December - January, so I'm sure he will do well this year.
BTW Andray is over 250 now, but more importantly his body muscle mass is more apparently, that is what was said on the John Thompson show anyway.
I'm as excited to see Donnel and Andray play as I am to see Oleksiy play, not to mention PJ and Rashad Anderson.:applause:

The consensus among many of the non-foreign experts is a frank lack of knowledge of on Olekiy. They usually take this as, "he's foreign, I've never heard of him, he's a project." What they didn't know is how Ernie Grunfeld shielded him from the rest of the league, how Oleksiy was torching the top American Prospects, and how his skill set is unlike many of the quote-unquote Eurobigs.
Frankly, its the reason many of you guys are so hard on the pick. I feel like we are beginning to sound like a broken record. Beginning monday in Vegas, when OP lights it up, is when people will begin to recognize his gangsta.
This draft was terrible, everyone knew it would be. Why do the Wiz get shredded for taking someone with potential... At the 18th pick?? Do people expect serious impact there?
Sorry to keep re-iterating.
