Allentown Morning Call - Sixers GM Billy King put in a call to the agent of Washington forward Jared Jeffries, a restricted free agent who has received a $2.776-million qualifying offer from the Wizards, according to the Allentown Morning Call.

Because of cap considerations, Jeffries would have to be acquired via a sign-and-trade deal.

Hmmmm...what could we get from Philly via S&T? I'd love to get Igoudala. And that is reasonable since the Sixers did draft Rodney Carney who is basically an Igoudala carbon copy with better offensive skills.

interesting...but they dont have a GOOD power foward to even get back if we were to do a sign and trade...(UNLESS! weber wants to come back home haha)

I'd be honestly stunned if we got Igoudala in the trade. Aren't they building around him?

Well Warhead you know I've been yelling for us to get a veryathletic swingman since this offseason began, either Andre or Carney would be great by me.

I would give Jeffries and a 1st for either.

In fact seeing as we are at worst a perrenial playoff team now, it is time for us to trade our 1st rounders for quality young talent. Before teams realize our 1sts aren't going to be in the top 15 any time soon, if we don't trade them now, their value will never go down.

Remember, Andre and Gilbert went to the same College :D

Andre, Rodney carney or JR Smith, or Josh Smith and to a much lesser extent Deshawn Stevenson we need someone like that on our team, a finisher, a defensive monster, someone who demands doubles occasionally just out of sheer athletic talent, it will really open things up. AI had career years as soon as Igoudala came on board, and Andre never got to play up to his potential there - but he still opened things up for Allen.

Man with Gilbert, Andre/Caron, Jamison, CENTER we would have a great starting team. With perfect rotational talent with great potential coming off the bench.

Billy King would be publicly executed if he gave up Andre Iguoadala for Jared Jeffries.
I would laud him however.

Agreed. AI2 isn't going anywhere.

I wish we could somehow get Dalembert. Maybe Haywood and Jeffries for Dalembert....

I hope the Wizards don't offer too much to keep Jeffries. I'd do a sign and trade before offering him more than the qualifying offer...

I feel similar to you, he has so much athleticism and can handle the ball, but he just doesn't finish. It doesn't make sense, and maybe one day he'll figure out with his 40" vertical and 6'11" body he should be able to dunk on people not just when he is wide open, but I do not want to pay him too much to find out.

With a PG as good as Arenas, we need people who can finish when they get in the paint, not just throw up bricks.

Not necessarily if it was for 2 1st round picks plus brendan haywood...

It is about time for us to make a major deal involving a number of our 1st rounders, we have to be aggressive IMO because we are not going to be drafting high and there is no player on our team that we will get a possible lotto pick for (A La Eddie Curry to Knicks) so we need to trade Haywood and whatever to get the most promising young talent available.

Much of AI2 would have to do with whether Andre is happy with the 76rs either, otherwise it gets to damage control for Billy King.

He will most likely be getting picks from Boston, and if he coudl get 2 1st rounders from us he could very well save his job.

Couldn't disagree more guys....Jared is our best defender as he always matches up against our oppenents #1 scoring option whether that is a PF or a SG.

Also, in the Princeton type offense that we run it is important to have our bigs be able to handle the ball. Jared is very good at 6'11" at bringing the ball up the court and running the offense.

No way Iggy is involved...although I would LOVE it.

I bet they wouldnt be averse to moving Sammy D however.

I would love Dalembert, but I doubt they would move him plus the numbers don't match up unless we throw in Brendan or Etan.

It looks like we may keep him.

Look at all the FAs. Teams are just picking them off the market. Big Ben, Pryz, hell even Speedy Claxton got $6 Mil per and the dude doesn't even start!

If there was actual legit interest in Jeffries I think we would have heard it by now. He'll shop himself around and then find that there is no real good offer out there that will entice him to leave D.C.

If anything we might be able to resign him for less than what we originally thought. After the way this FA has opened up he just hasn't received the attention...

I hope your right. I would like to see us lock him up to the maximum 5 year deal. I want him to be a "core Wizard". :)
