He's a man of few words apparently. I wish the Hokie fans didn't sound too hard-pressed on him. PSU did the same with Kevin Jones and bam, he's at VT. He hasn't visited Florida yet and won't be making a decision until he does.

Chat with Tom Luginbill
Welcome to The Show! On Wednesday, Scouts Inc.'s Tom Luginbill will
stop by to take your questions! Joining Tom will be quarterback Tyrod
Taylor out of Hampton High School in Virginia. Taylor, who led Hampton
to a AAA Virginia state championship last season, is deciding between
Virginia Tech and Florida. Send in your questions now and stop by at 3
p.m. ET on Wednesday to join the chat!
Tom Luginbill: (2:57 PM ET ) welcome everyone -- hope you all had a
great 4th of july -- and what can be more American then talking some
college football recruiting.
Tom Luginbill: (2:57 PM ET ) Joining us today is QB Tyrod Taylor -- he
is here so lets get started
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Michael (Richmond): TT, is the exsisting QB depth at UF at VT a factor
in your decision?
Tyrod Taylor: (2:58 PM ET ) I know I'm going to have to compete at
whatever school I go to.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
George (Aldie, VA): How would you like to see your game develop over
the next couple of years. Do you see yourself focusing on becoming a
traditional drop back passer or continuing to be a dual threat QB?
Tyrod Taylor: (3:00 PM ET ) I'm a drop back passer now. I'm going to
continue what I'm doing now. I'm going to look to pass, but then make a
play if I need to.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Richmond, VA: What attributes stand out about each of the two
Football programs that you are considering?
Tyrod Taylor: (3:01 PM ET ) Both teams win a lot of games. Both
attract me a lot. They're even in a lot of ways.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Jerome, Fayetteville, NC: Does the fact that Tim Tebow is already at
Florida affect your decision on becoming a gator?
Tyrod Taylor: (3:02 PM ET ) No, because, the coaches have told me
that I can come in and compete for that spot.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Jake (Orlando, FL): Tyrod, how important is it to you to have weapons
(like say Percy Harvin or Aaron Hernandez the #1 TE this year) with
you on the offense?
Tyrod Taylor: (3:03 PM ET ) That's important, as far as recruiting,
having good players coming in. But if not, I'll work with whomever's at
the school.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Matt (Baltimore, MD): Tyrod, After you make your announcement, do
you plan on doing a little recruiting of your own? Do you plan on
supporting the school you committ to by trying to bring other big names
to play with you? Sure would help the lucky school who gets ya.
Tyrod Taylor: (3:04 PM ET ) Yes, I will do that.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Adam (Charleston, SC): Of course, we all want to know when an
announcement might come. We'd like to get an estimate of when that
might happen. Tyrod, VT Nation wants you badly!!!! Stay close to home,
man. Go Hokies!
Tyrod Taylor: (3:04 PM ET ) I know it will be in the month of July, but I
dont know which day yet.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Marc Truumees, Colorado Springs, CO: Tyrod, I'm a VT grad and a
diehard football fan. As a Virginia product, don't you think you're best
positioned to leave your legacy at a Virginian university?! GO HOKIES!!
Tyrod Taylor: (3:05 PM ET ) People tell me that all the time, but I'm
going to choose whichever school I feel comfortable with.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Alex Milford, DE: What is the most important factor in the school you
choose?
Tyrod Taylor: (3:06 PM ET ) Education.
Tyrod Taylor: (3:06 PM ET ) Then it would be developing into a
quarterback that can play in the NFL.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
M. Mann (Rich Creek, VA): Tyrod- Which school do you think has the
best corps of receivers VT or FLA? Both have great receivers. Good
Luck and I hope you become a HOKIE!!
Tyrod Taylor: (3:06 PM ET ) I think Virginia Tech, right now.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
George, Orlean, VA: Tyrod, First of all, best wishes on a successful
college career, no matter where you go to school. I'm a Hokie, and I'd
love to see you in Blacksburg, but in either case, best of luck. Now,
what would you say are you truly looking for in a college environment?
What do you intend to study? Could grad school be in your future, after
a pro career? Again, best wishes.
Tyrod Taylor: (3:07 PM ET ) I'm going to major in sports management.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
David(Gaithersburg, MD): Tyrod, I understand that not only are you an
outstnading athlete, but you excel in the classroom as well. Are you
planning on graduating early and getting to college in January? I sure
hope you land in Blacksburg, but good luck with wherever you decide!
Tyrod Taylor: (3:08 PM ET ) That's a possibility, but I'm not sure right
now. My family's looking into whether I should do it.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mike (Arlington, VA): Tyrod, does the fan support play a role in your
decision? Do you read the message boards?
Tyrod Taylor: (3:09 PM ET ) No, I don't read the message boards.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Reynolds( Winston Salem NC): Do you have a lot of friends at Va Tech
now? What do you think of ACC football?
Tyrod Taylor: (3:10 PM ET ) ACC football has come up a lot. I do have
a couple of friends that are at VT.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
David (Washington DC): Tyrod, I was just curious what the reason was
you dropped PSU off your list? Early PT, Position, Location? Good luck
on your decision.
Tyrod Taylor: (3:11 PM ET ) They just brought in two top quarterbacks,
one that came in this year.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Coach DJ, Dale City: How do you thinkHampton's team this year would
match up with Hylton, Varina or any of the other Div. 6 potential state
champs?
Tyrod Taylor: (3:12 PM ET ) Hampton's going to win those games.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Chris (Richmond, VA): Tyrod, How has your family handled your
recruitment? Also, do you have nicknames that you go by?
Tyrod Taylor: (3:12 PM ET ) My mother and my dad have been
handling my recruiting stuff. They've been enjoying it, as well as myself.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Matt: (Blacksburg, VA): Tyrod, the Swamp compared to the Lane
Stadium... what is your impression?
Tyrod Taylor: (3:13 PM ET ) I know VT is working on their stadium and
making it bigger. I haven't visited Florida yet, but I plan on it before I
make my decision.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
David (Akron): Tyrod, how does Hampton look as a team this year?
Tyrod Taylor: (3:14 PM ET ) We're very young and inexperienced, but
we should be OK once the season comes.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tim (ATL): Hey Tyrod, general Q for ya... in the end, how much of your
decision will be a gut decision about which place you'll be happiest
(football, other, etc...) and how much is a more logical pros/cons type
of deal? Good luck wherever you go!
Tyrod Taylor: (3:15 PM ET ) More so than any of those two, I've been
planning on seeing which one fits me the best. I'll see which one the
Lord leads me to.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
David (Akron): Tyrod, whatever college you pick will involve a nasty
rivalry. (VT/Miami or Virginia, Florida/Georgia or FSU) You looking
forward to playing in these games?
Tyrod Taylor: (3:16 PM ET ) Yes, I love big games.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Chris (Midlothian, VA): What is the best & worst of the recruiting
process? Thanks & good luck!
Tyrod Taylor: (3:17 PM ET ) I guess the text messages could fit into
both of those categories. That's probably it. Everything else I've been
enjoying.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tim Atlanta, GA: Tyrod, do you plan to redshirt at your school of
choice, or would you expect to start your true freshman year?
Tyrod Taylor: (3:18 PM ET ) I'll probably decide that when I get there. I
don't know that yet.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Jake (Alabama): What number do you plan on wearing at either school
you go to?
Tyrod Taylor: (3:18 PM ET ) Either 5 or 2.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
David (Akron, OH): Tyrod, which college QB is your game most similar
to? Good luck wherever you choose to go to school.
Tyrod Taylor: (3:19 PM ET ) I feel like I'm a mixture of a lot of people. I
can't really say that I'm like just one person. I guess you could compare
me to a guy like Charlie Ward.
Buzzmaster: (3:20 PM ET ) Our thanks to Tyrod for joining us today!
Tom Luginbill: (3:21 PM ET ) Tyrod has to run -- I want to thank him for
taking the time to join us and best of luck to him. You can read more
about Tyrod in the Get to Know.
