They were interested last year and I thought he could have helped the squad out.
He didn't get many minutes in Chi-town, correct?

true, we were interested last year, but he is an undersized pf (6'8"). i think we could invest in a better player

He is physical and I have always liked him because he has more range than any of our bigs (and he hits FT's). I would be pleased if we signed him, as long as it wasn't for the full MLE. Maybe 3M/year for 3-4 years...

Whatever it takes to keep Etan Thomas off the floor. I'm actually starting to warm up to the Stevenson idea alot more.
A backcourt of Arenas, Stevenson, and Butler is very strong. It also pushes Hayes to the bench since he is probably too injury plagued to play starter minutes. A bench unit with Hayes and Daniels is very strong. Dont forget, the new squad will have chemistry that wasnt there in the first half of last season. I can see what Grunfeld is doing. He is stockpiling on young talent to either mold for the future or use as trade bait in two years. Thats when we will have a massive amount of money to spend. This is why he is very hesitant to overpay anyone at this point. Of coarse, one big trade would crap on my theory...

Well Darius is a restricted free agent and the Bulls can only go so high to match offers since they already signed a few of there other bigs.
I don't like the idea of getting him because he is not good on the defensive end of the court. He has a nice shooting touch from around 15ft. and can hit free throws. He does not have a low-post presence and gets muscled away from rebounds too easily.
I would pass on him. We can do better in-house. :2cents:

He'd be okay for cheap depth. Problem is as someone else said he's an RFA so the Bulls will match anything reasonable.

I was always impressed when he came off the bench though. He was an UDFA right?
I remember thinking - man if we had a guy like that off our bench...

bingo.
Don't forget if Stevenson/Blatche/Ramos/Oleksiy have a good year.... next years draft is probably going to be one of the best in NBA history
Personally I want to keep Blatche, he is special, but the others are traid bait...
Oh to dream of Mr. Oden....
That guy is a beast and the only guy who Deed up Blatche effectively in the HS Allstar games..

His minutes increased over the year as he got more comfortable in his role. For a while there, he was our best player. Virtually automatic from 15 feet. He has some post game, but he is a slow defender, which is why I don't expect Chicago to re-sign him.
Bugs' was right on.

Cool, thanks.
So he is like a tweener then? It is hard to spot tweeners in Wiz opponents, because the Zards are a team full of tweeners.
I don't think we have one person on our roster who fits a classic 1 2 3 4 5 role.

I agree completely. I think as long as we don't do something dumb (i.e. give him etan thomas money) he'd be a great fit. I've always liked him, I think he's got some potential to be a real banger/contributer.

Haha no way would he get a contract like Etan, Etan had much more potential and was young when we signed that...
Who knew Etan would pull a muscle every time he bent over for the next 2 and a half years...
Oh well, if Etan can ever get healthy, his contract isn't that bad at all...

We don't have a lot of cash to go after anyone. We might be $3 million under the cap once the new cap amount is released which is estimated at around $52 million I believe. We are at around $49 million right now (that includes 2.4 million tender offer to Jared).

He is not a banger or rebounder and doesn't have a good inside game. Sound familiar? We have enough of those guys. He is not what we need. He is the antithesis of what we need. :)
