What's the story with this guy? Is he definitely coming to the NBA next season? Could we just hang on to him and bring him over next year when perhaps we're more cap-flexible? If we trade Daniels for Magloire, which I'd hate, is there a chance we bring him over? Why aren't we shopping his rights?

Haven't heard anything on this front for a while so any insight would be much-appreciated. Thanks.

Okay - this is what I know - which I admit is little to nothing because most articles written on Juan's situation are in Italian.

He has stated before the draft that if he doesn't come to the NBA this year - he probably never will.

But... the reason we haven't brought him over/traded him yet, until hopefully this year, is because he signed a contract with an ENORMOUS buyout.

Like Sarunus Jasikavicus buyout, 14-15 million dollars. You say trade him to the Knicks or Lakers, they have tons of money. Well.. there is a snag.

An NBA team can only pay up to $500,000 of a buyout - so the rest of the Money has to come from the players contract.

That means he would need a 3 year 5 million dollar deal just to pay off his buyout in 3 years. You can do the math and see the problem.

The gamble is Navarros, he can most certainly get a loan to pay it off, or maybe he was just being dramatic about calling this "The last chance for him to come to the NBA" I mean he is only 24 or 25 I think.

Anyway, thats the deal, and I don't know more about it.

I've read all of them. None of them provided even close to the insight Spearhead provided before your worthless post.

Everyone was anticipating that he'd come over, that we'd trade his rights...he just fell off the radar and there hasn't been anything about him in a long time.

So, thanks very much Spearhead. Thanks for one of those obnoxious *show somebody a link to posts made months ago even though the basketball forum isn't crowded at all and there's nothing wrong with new threads* posts, hands.

my point was why start another thread instead of posting in an existing on where we can continue an already started conversation,

You'll notice that thread has been dead for well over a month, is titled about Navarro considering leaving and coming to the NBA, and has nothing really related to anything that Spearhead just told me.

Gee wiz...I'm all for searching before starting a new thread and bumping threads when necessary. I've been on plenty of forums before. However, you don't need to be the forum police and it was pointless here, especially with a new member. It was completely fine to start a new thread here.

Now if you'll excuse me, I came here to talk basketball. I usually enjoy your posts. Let's keep them basketball related from now on, eh?
