So here is some background. I am doing an offline draft over e-mail due to time constraints and scheduling issues. We are in round 6 of 15 and I need to take a QB. The league is setup as QB, WR, WR, WR, RB, RB, TE, K and D; no flex position. I have picked up my WRs and RBs and have to go QB this round. So far, the following have been snagged:
P. Manning
C. Palmer
E. Manning
T. Green
J. Delhomme
D. McNabb
T. Brady
M. Hasselbeck
While I still have a few spots before I choose, only one person who will draft before me needs a QB so I have some flexibility. So far, here are my thoughts
D. Culpepper - Risky, but I like him in Miami
M. Bulger - Questionable since it will be a new offense
Any other suggestions? I think that these two will give me the best value at this current pick. I think I can snag someone like Brunell, McNair, etc further down as a backup. Any thoughts?

Honestly, I'd take Brunell over Culpepper simply because of the Skin's receiving corps and Saunder's track record. Culpepper's got Chambers and Booker, but I could see Saban heavily emphasizing the running game w/ Ronnie Brown this year. Just a thought, but I also would strongly consider Kurt Warner for the same reason. He was lighting it up last year with Boldin and Fitzgerald. Might want to grab Leinart if you get Warner tho, b/c of that crappy O-Line in Arizona.

A lot of it depends on your scoring system. However, Bulger has consistently scored more points per game in most scoring systems than many of the quarterbacks already off the board. The problem with him has been his injury history. But if you can draft him now, and draft a quality backup or two later, such as Brunell, you should be good at the position.
FYI, QB's like Warner, Plummer, and Delhomme seem to go much earlier than expected in most of the drafts I've done to this point so I wouldn't expect much to get them as a backup unless you draft them early. Brunell though seems to fall, I guess because people listen to the media too much.

I would go with Warner, but I drafted Fitzgerald and I hate having too many offensive weapons on the same team. Plummer and Delhomme are already off the board (Plummer after I posed this). I think Brunell has an opportunity to have a great season again, but the 6th round is way too early to take him. I think I could probably grab him late. I am also considering McNair but I think he will fall as well.
I am considering skipping a QB at this spot and drafting Cedric Benson for a backup RB and getting a QB at my next pick (which would be 7 after this one).
EDIT: Bulger is now gone so I think that there is enough QB talent for me to hold off until atleast the 7th round to draft a QB

Bulger or maybe Jake Plummer
those are the two best left available, wait on Culpepper

Hate to say it but Bledsoe is not a bad choice in round 7 or 8. Unless you, just like myslef, have never had a Cowboy on the roster.
I just can't root for them, regardless. :puke:

I say go with Bulger...he is on a pass happy offense with little defense....he'll be in some barn burners.
