sp hallday, lirano, zambrano, glavine, and lester, rocket, meche
closers are papelbon and rivera


was thinking to push vlad to rf, and figgins to center and derrek lee or pierre to util

good trade or not? make or break trade of the year

You'd be ripping him off big time, but I don't see where you'd stash Derek Lee- Ryan Howard and Ortiz are probably better options at 1st and Util. You'd be upgrading w/ Vlad over Pierre, and it looks like you've got the starting pitching to be able to withstand giving him clemens. Might want to save Clemens to use in matchup situations though.

With theteam you have now, you should be in first place. Without knowing your scoring system, you'd upgrade the outfield, but lose out on pitching. That's how I'd look at it.

For some reason Ryan Howard doesnt show up in your post as part of the trade until you quote it.

Anyways, I think I like this deal...McCann's numbers speak for themselves and the Braves are hot right now. I think Vlad and the Angels will continue to make a push. Your starting pitching looks pretty stacked as it is and I don't think Clemens is the same as he was last year. :2cents:

I would do it in a heart beat. You have Ortiz so you wont be missing Howard's HRs that much plus Derek Lee strikes out less and scores more runs then Howard. You are giving up two very good players for IMO two great players and a good catcher.

Edit: is McCann only eligible at catcher? If so then maybe try to get a pitcher or position upgrade elsewhere because Varitek is only eligible to catch as well. I would still do the trade without McCann.

Its not as big a ripoff as some as you think. Derek Lee is a great player but plays in a non-factor lineup so he might not get that many RBI's, and Ryan Howard should get you more HR's and RBI's, especially in such a small ballpark in philly. Varitek should play better, but I make this trade cause you probably need a little more power in your outfield. Tough decision, and Clemens is the x-factor here.

You're selling high on Ryan, which is a great move IMO. His #'s will decline towards the end of the season. With your pitching, you don't need Clemons.

its only a 8 team league but i made aggressive trades in the beginning of the year.. had guys like ichiro, jason bay, great starting pitching

There shouldn't have even been a need to ask, take the trade. You have strong pitching so losing Clemens isn't going to hurt you and also you are gaining Lee over the loss of Howard so 1B is still a strong position for you
