"We recognize they [Wizards] have a right to match. But hopefully, they take into considerations some of the human factors of it. In Jared’s mind, he’d be better suited to playing in New York and for the Knicks.

Kwame Brown has taken over the title of “Public Enemy Number One” for his antics while he was a member of the team and because of certain comments made after his departure. He narrowly beats out Juwan Howard whom the fans love to hate for never living up to that enormous contract he signed while with the team many, many years ago. And while Jeffries hasn’t reached that level of public animosity, he has never been fully embraced by the fans either. Let’s face it, D.C. is a no-nonsense type of town and if you don’t get the job done, you will not endear yourselves to the fans. Over the last four years, Jeffries has been criticized for (a) not scoring enough, (b) not finishing at the rim, © not giving the team more rebounds, and (d) generally not living up to the hype of being selected as the 11th pick in the first round and someone who received the 2002 Most Valuable Player Award of the Big Ten (Silver Basketball) from the Chicago Tribune."
