Troy Aikman would not be going into the Hall of Fame Tomorrow.

If it wasn't for Aikman being a top 3 QB of a decade, winning 3 super bowls and being one of the best at his position of all time he wouldn't be going into the Hall of Fame. As has often been the case, Lavar Arrington's significance is vastly overstated.

Aikman would still be going but his trip to Canton came a little sooner courtesy of LaVar.
Forgive me for posting something about a former player that is not negative.

I understand, for clarity's sake, I'm not negative of many ex-redskins, but Lavar's one I am. I've got nothing but respect for AP, Smoot, even LC (he didn't want to be here, that's fine, he fought and worked his ass off while he was here. That's all you can ask). It's just, in this case, Aikman seems to me to be such an obvious first ballot HOFer based on his on field performance. I just don't see how Arrington's hit has anything to do with it.

I always thought the hit was overrated.
Aikman was really washed up at the time and the Cowboys were a bad team. We weren't any good either. It just didn't really matter in the grand scheme of things.
The hit wasn't even that great. LaVar basically dove and sort of hit/pushed him and Aikman hit his head on the turf hard. He was a concussion prone QB at the time who really shouldn't have been on the field at the time. Anybody could have given him a concussion. That hit demonstrated that.
LaVar had other more impressive hits during his time here...

Unfortunately, most of them were out of bounds.

Aikman would of eventually been inducted into the Hall of Fame regardless.

If it werent for Arringtons hit, Aikman would have played another year or 2, thus he would not be eligible for the HOF this year. That is all Fuji is saying. Lighten up man.

if it wasn't for LAvar and the 87,000 other defensive guys who gave Aikman concussions is more accurate. are they going to induct his head trauma team, too?

arrington had nothing at all to with aikman' induction. The fact is that with his charater he should have been with dallas!!!!

You know.... the Redskins actually lost that game right? Anthony Wright came in and led the way to victory.
