Throwing BBQ's for teamates, helping rookies after practice. The end is definately near.

—WR Terrell Owens threw a barbecue for his teammates on Sunday in an effort to spark team chemistry and allow them to get to know him.

Being a leader is not something you talk about," Newman said. "You just play and do your job. Some times it's not easy to tell your friend to step it up, but if you are willing to win you have to do it. As far me saying something, I have done it before and I will keep doing it until my point gets across."

Don't discount Owens as well. He has taken rookie receiver Sam Hurd under his wing.

He also made quite an impression on rookie linebacker Bobby Carpenter.

"All he does is demand results out of this team," Carpenter said. "He works extremely hard. That's all he wants his teammates to do. That's how I was at Ohio State. I was as hard on my teammates as I was on myself. If guys were slacking I would let them know. I plan to do the same thing here."

Yeah, using TO throwing a BBQ in pre season as evidence that he won't blow up in mid season when he doesn't get the ball enough is pretty much insidisputable evidence.

Most team leaders are found, by the example they set on the practice Field and locker room

not by serving ribs

He'll be the first to throw that chemistry out the window when he doesn't get the ball to his taste.

puns intended.

After reading T.O.'s injury is keeping him out the rest of preseason, maybe T.O. is practicing just in case he is handling everyones laundry and water the rest of the season....

The Cowboys fans who aren't whistling through the graveyard are very concerned that this hamstring episode (and TO speaking directly to the media about it in violation of Parcells' rules; calling in his own medical team; not liking training camp to begin with, etc.) are the first signs of his corrosion on the cohesiveness of that team.

To make matters worse, the media is already asking direct questions about this to Parcells, who is undoubtedly having to bite his tongue, but even if these questions are baseless (which I doubt, at least in part), the mere fact of the media coverage will beg answers that TO will only be too happy to give.

Not good, guys. You can talk about BBQ's all you want, but you'll recall last year how most Eagles players attended TO's birthday (IIRC) BBQ in the midst of that whole rift.

As I said two years ago about the Eagles, "If you lie down with dogs you will end up with fleas." Have fun with your mutt.

What chemistry do you mean? The official Cowboy line, or the facts.

After the BBQ, he basically told his teammates to go ahead and work on the team thing, it's hot out there, I be in my hotel room. No, wait - I'll be in the ME chamber, you'll have to leave a message. I don't need your "team" doctor to tell ME I gotta practice. I got my own doctors now. We can't damage ME now, can we. Remember, I'm ME. "I can't think outside of ME" (actual recent quote)

And tuna doesn't even know why he's not at practice. lol.

I didn't think it would start this soon. Intriguing in a Michael Jackson kind of way.
