Kerry Collins he would be a good number 2.Now im only saying this, because JC does not look ready.I also think he would be cheap and he would be a hell of alot better than Todd Collins.Just a thought i know it wont happen.Just wondering what you guys think.

The name Collins translates to "statue". It doesn't matter which one it is. I say stay with Todd because he already knows the offense. Even if he sucks on the field he can be like a coach. You know what they say....."those who can't play, coach". ;)

I'm thinkin "deer" in the headlights with a rush commin at him. Dallas has Bledso, why would we want to lower ourselves to that level.

No thanks. I'd ellaborate, but it would just come down to that.

On second though: If brunnel goes down, I dont think any collins is getting us to the SB. So why would I want to waste time with him. I'll stick with what we've got.

we don't need another backup and he's happy at his farm in NC unless someone offers him BIG money

Todd Collins absolutely sucked Saturday, but let's not judge him entirely based on that one performance. I say let's give him a Mulligan and see what happens the rest of the preseason.

I don't see how you could look at Campbell and say he's not ready. He looked pretty good to me in that preseason game. He has pocket presence and he's calm back there. It's really a shame Farris dropped that ball, because that was a beautifully thrown pass. Campbell would have looked a whole lot better if that ball had counted as a completion.

Collins isn't all that great at throwing TD's. He threw the ball 565 times last year and only came up with 20 scores. That's with Porter and Moss to throw to. For comparison's sake, Brunell threw the ball 454 times and came up with 23 TD's.

Collins has never thrown more than 22 TD's in his career despite throwing the ball 500 times or more in each of his last 6 seasons. You can't overrate scoring ability in this league and Collins is below average in that regard.

I would rather have Kerry than Todd.I say sign him and cut Todd.Im sorry it did not look like Todd knew the system last week.He sucks i already hate the guy.

Brunell is the #1

Collins may suck but he's basically their coach on the field - he's obvoiusly around for one reason (knowledge of Saunders system)

Campbell - qb of the future...we hope...slowly being groomed.

Basically it would boil down to carrying 4 qb's. NOT GONNA HAPPEN. Or Todd C. being let go in favor of someone who may not know the system but is more talented.

Coaches obviously feel Todd Collins has value as a backup and "on field coach" to get the new system engrained in Brunell/Campbell.

You hating the guy after seeing him in 1 1/2 quarters of the first preseason game is enough for me! Cut him now!!

Gibbs said Campbell is ready now but Brunell is our leader.

IMO Campbell did look ready. Maybe not Peyton Manning ready but ready non the less.

well in Kerry's defense Mark did have a significantly better running game and alot of his TDs were wide open PA 2 or 3 yard completions. not a Kerry fan he does throw a nice deep ball and he would look alot better behind our line than the woeful raider line:raidersuc

yeah, but the stats the guy mentions go back six seasons, not just last season ("Collins has never thrown more than 22 TD's in his career despite throwing the ball 500 times or more in each of his last 6 seasons")...so it says more about Kerry Collins than it does the Raiders.

If we suffer another huge injury this year, especially to Brunell, it won't really matter who the back-up QB is. Let's just hope Mark stays healthy and guides the team as he did through those last five games last year and into the playoffs. :gaintsuck

That would just be another QB that would have to get the timing down, learn the offense, blah blsh blah.

Collins is too mistake prone anyway, something Gibbs dislikes.

and bring back heath shuler too, im sure hes aching to get back to playing. infact if john hall goes down lets bring back kris hepner:doh:. Todd Collins isnt the best but there is no reason at all to bring in kerry. besides, he wants to start and wants starter money which i dont think we are willing to give him.
