There seem to be quiHte a few teams that were considered to be the joke of the league last season, who're showing promise of a brighter future. IMO, the teams that're the best examples are the Browns, the Texans, and the Saints.

These are teams with a plethora of young talented players who're only getting better, along with coaches who know exactly what they need to do to build a winning franchise. On the other hand, there are teams who at this point in time don't have a promising future, a single real bright spot on their team, or a core of young promising players. These are what I call the "Rock Bottom Teams".

My votes go for Buffalo and San Fran.

What're yours?

The Bills for sure.

Not so sure about the 49ers, they seem to be trying to reboot that franchise and dig it out of its very, very deep hole. Maybe Norv can help as the OC.

The Raiders seem like they'll be a pretty awful team this year, with that o-line and Aaron Brooks as QB, I don't see how anything there will work out well.

For now, the Bills are slipping into obscurity and the Niners have been there for a while. But the Niners will right the ship within 5 years unlike the Bills. The Browns are 2 years away and the Raiders are about 5 as well.

Bills for sure. Then I gotta say if the Cardinals don't make some serious noise this year, I think they're in trouble. This is Green's 3rd year, and they need to mkae a move up to the playoffs. I'm not sure he will be there next year if they don't.

Until last night I might have thrown the Jets into the mix, now I'm not certain with them. They certaily aren't great.

I have one that may surprise some but I think KC is going to have troubles. They lost a great deal in the offseason and Herm, while a good speaker and motivator, sucks at decision making. All the Jets fans I know were calling for Herm to be fired before last season began. They were ecstatic to not only get rid of him, but get a draft choice as a bonus.

Well I go on a year by year basis really.

This year, the absolutely-for-sure-rock-bottom-teams are...SF, Oakland, Buffalo, Cleveland, and Tennessee. I dont see any of them even having a shot at doing anything.

The absolutely-for-sure-top-teir-teams are...Pittsburgh, Indy, Carolina, Denver, and Seattle.

Teams im pretty positive will play poorly are...St.L, Minnesota, New Orleans(watch out for them next year though), KC and Houston.

Teams im pretty positive will play well are...Cincinati, Miami, Washington, Chicago, and Dallas.

That leaves pretty much 12 in the middle, some of which I think will have a good season but just have some questionmarks, and some I think wont have a good season, but could surprise.

The probobly-going-to-have-a-good-season teams are...Arizona, Giants, New England, Jacksonvile, San Diego, and Detriot.

The probobly-not-going-to-have-a-good-season teams are...Philly, Atlanta, Baltimore, Jets, Green Bay and TB.

I really just wanted to list all 32 teams, and that makes me a winner.

I'd say the Cardinals are on the way up...they get 2 gimmees against the 49ers each year andI think they'll flirt with 8-8 this season then make a run at the division next year.

I agree with everything but 3 things that I can tell:

1. Minnesota - Johnson really helped this team run at the playoffs last year, and he has had success pretty much everywhere he's been, I think they will be in the running for a wild card again, but come short

2. Detroit - I can't see them having a possibly good season for the next 5 years....

3. Baltimore - I just have this feeling that with McNair, his career will be reignited here and Baltimore will once again be a team to watch.

But good post!

The Raiders and Saints both have very good chances to go 3-13 and pick #1.

Most of the teams in the NFC with one or two key injuries would fit this description. Injuries are a part of the game.

SF, TB, ATL, STL, NO, AZ, DET, GB, MN, NYG (Tiki), Skins (Brunell), Dallas (Bledsoe), Carolina (Delhomme), Seattle (Hasselbeck).

I think the Bears and Eagles are primed for a run in the NFC with their depth. The other 14 teams are either bad or one injury away from a struggle. Although the Skins are thin at RB, they have QB's (2) in McNabb and Garcia who can minimize the loss of a Westbrook.
