The Redskins are going to have a number of players make their final 53-man roster who were not even on the team when training camp opened. TJ Duckett, Mike Rumph, Jeff Posey, and Spencer Folau will all probably make the team in my opinion, and its possible that one of Antuan Edwards or Julian Battle will make it.
This is in addition to a number of new additions earlier in the offseason: Andre Carter, Brandon Lloyd, Antwaan Randle-El, Adam Archuleta, Christian Fauria, Tyson Walter, Mike Pucillo, Kenny Wright, Todd Collins.
And this is in addition to any rookies who make the team (by my count 3 will: Rocky McIntosh, Reed Doughty, and Anthony Montgomery, with Mike Espy having an outside shot).
Add it all up and we have HUGE roster turnover from last year, with 16-18 new players on the 53 man roster who were not in any way associated with the Redskins in January.
AND this is in addition to the installation of a new offense by a new coach, Al Saunders.
Is anybody else as worried as I am???

No we probably not as worried as you are.
I believe that you play the game with the players that you have.
Players and teams are perishable. Put the best team on the field that you can on a weekly basis tee it up and play the game. It is a simple game. Block and tackle.

When a team has a large turnover it is often due to cap issues or a house cleaning. In the Redskins situation it is due to talent upgrades. There will probably be some hiccups at the beginning of the season. This has been evident by the preseason, new players learning the system, Once all players and coaches are on the same page, the Redskins will kick butt!
Don't worry, be happy!!!:logo:

I think it will just take the first win of the season (VIKINGS) to make this team come together and mesh... they will start playing like a team and be ready to rock for the rest of the season IMO....
I think the first game will be a close win and a lot of people on this board will be worried afterwards... but like i said it will bring the team together and they will roll over the boys and anyone else who gets in their way....

Like in 2000...
or 2001...
or 2002...
etc...
I have to agree with the posters statment. This is looking like Snyder is trying to buy a championship again. I have a very bad feeling about this coming season.
Brand new system + 15 to 18 new players + nobody know the system well / by the fact that with all the new team members that have not played together / by time of getting all of this together = a rebuilding season and no playoff chances for this year. IMO:2cents:

I can agree with that....but i dont know if Gibbs is going to let it wait that long. I think he is going to be molding these boys NOW.
As for all the new faces....maybe this is what this franchise has needed. Get some talent (notice i didnt say BIG name talent) in here who can get us where we need to be, deep into the playoffs and even the Super Bowl. Am i saying they will carry this team, no. Is it going to be an immediate impact, yes. We still have the big Three, (Moss, Portis, Cooley) so the basis of our offense is still there, and we still have Gregg Williams who IMO, could suit up a monkey at LB and make them a pro-bowler. Im not worried, but then again, the game aint on the line...yet

So much for the 98% offseason participation ;)
I think Reed is heading for practice squad. I like the aggressiveness of most of these moves. If there's an obvious problem, why wait. Clearly, they saw enough in practice and the first 2 preseason games to recognize deficiencies in the depth. Now, if we can just keep a couple of draft picks... our depth may grow internally and such moves may become less necessary.

Bingo! We're scrambling to find depth late in the game and trading away draft picks to do so. Why does our depth suck?? Because we've been trading away all our draft picks....
It's a self-fulfilling prophecy.

I'm not worried at all. Many, if not all of these additions( especially these latest ones) were brought here for reasons of depth. How long have we seen posters here worry about our lack of depth in certain areas? They adressed these areas the best they could up to this point. For me, that's a good sign, not one to be worried about. The "core" group still remains, and that's the important piece to the puzzle. The rest were brought here to fill holes from previous seasons and possible gaps that could open due to injury, etc. It's all good.

No, turnover happens in the NFL.
So, we should worry that 4 or 5 players (out of 53) haven't been in THIS training camp since day one?
Nah.
