We have so many weapons oppossing coaches will not know how to game plan for our offense. Defenses will be totally confused. Al Saunders is a master a finding the strengths of all of his players. We have so many playmakers. Maybe I am dreaming. It's crazy.

ARE
Lloyd
Moss
Cooley
Sellars
Duckett
Portis
Fauria
Ladell
Patten

If I am an opposing defense I am scared to death.... lol

We are the Super Bowl champions.. on paper. However, we have done this before.

What makes me feel easy is the fact that we have Gibbs. He is not just assembling a Madden-esque roster. He is picking and choosing which players he thinks can co-exist with one another. I do not think we will have a problem with chemistry.. as long as we are winning. The only thing that worries me is the 700 page playbook!

Please don't remind me. Everybody is all concerned about the RB situation, when we should really be worrying about the QB situation.

I do not think we do. Sure, Brunell IS getting up there in age. However, did Saunders have a hard time coaching Trent Green? Who, ironically, is the same age as Mark Brunell? Please, wait until there really is a concern before you worry... :2cents:

:applause: Thank you.

Brunell will do fine. Why do people truly worry? Age? Mobility? What doesn't Brunell possess that people find to lack the confidence in him?

He's a great QB and arguably in the top 10 of the league. The stats support him, so what evidence do people hold against him?

Exactly...we are very good on paper...that is all for now. Wait til the season starts before we go crazy.

They said on the JT show that we're the Yankees of the NFL. Whether or not thats a good thing, we'll find out in a few weeks.

I am a Yankees fan and I would have to agree with that assessment. Reverse the times, The current Yanks are what the Skins were during the Spurrier years. Grab every 'good' vet and pray they work out. The current Skins are going after the good YOUNG players and are reeping the rewards for it. :2cents:

It's going to come down to a healthy offensive line and QB play. The weapons are definitely there.

Well Considering Fauria is our 9th or 10th best option on offense, I would say he can be on the list. On most teams there 9th or 10th best offensive threat is some guy no ones ever heard of. Ours is a Super Bowl winning TE. pretty solid.

The skins have not been this stacked on offense in a really long time. Most have compared it to 91's team. I was in 1st grade so i won't get too into that comparison. However you can really see how each player can create mismatches for any defense that goes up against them.

On top of that our defense is stifling and smart, which will definitely give our offense the ball back often and in good field position (you will not see 23 plays for 70+ yards).

Brunell has got to be the person that lifts this team, and if Joe Gibbs has confidence in him then so do I.

Nobody can zone up the field no more or play 1 on 1 or put 8 man in the box, there is no stopping us we just got to play together and stay injury free.

I'm more of a lurker then poster, enjoying most posts. On the Duckett trade, I do think it helps stack the offense. I just see the options opening up in short yardage, not just in pounding the ball, but play-action..maybe a flea flicker.

A strong running attack will make the rest of the O that much better, as playing 8 men in the box will open up the passing attack, play 7 and you've got lightning then thunder. Late in the game, if the Skins are ahead, it'll be lights-out for opposing teams. Against the 3-4, a power run game will allow the Skins to run up the gut.

I see Betts remaining Portis's backup. He'll be a 3rd down back, and special teams player. The Rock has heart, but is the Thrash of the running backs. Hard worker, solid on special teams. I am honestly not scared of the Portis injury, I was, but not so much. He is a strong kid, whose got lots of heart. I think he'll be on the field game one to prove a point and will have to be dragged off...

Betts is vital for filling in for Portis, but Betts has had injury issues in his past. I like him, and am glad he's on the team.

The WR are the ones who might get a ton out of this attack...It is difficult to wrap my head around, but I will leave that to Saunders...and Gibbs.

Good times, and here's to winning then NFCE, then the NFC Championship...and finally... THE SUPERBOWL

I like to dream...

That doesn't make him a playmaker that opposing D-coordinators have to gameplan against, though...lol...the Skins are stacked enough even without him on the list. ;)

On paper we've never looked better, and I can't remeber a time in my memory when I have anticipated a season so much. The thing I like about this year's team is that most of the guys that have been brought in are younger. These aren't the Deion, and Bruce Smith's from the last attempt to stack the deck. These are young proven players, oh and last time we looked this good on paper we didn't have Greg Williams, Al Saunders, and Joe Gibbs. Needless to say, I can't wait to see how this turns out.

True, but most other teams in the league have those problems. Listen to John Clayton's take:

"Offensive line is probably the biggest concern throughout the league. Can the Chiefs survive without Willie Roaf (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/profile?statsId=2586) on the left side of their line? The organization still is trying to talk him out of retirement. Most stops along my training camp tour (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/trainingcamp06/news/story?id=2522081) this summer had concerns here. The Cowboys, Cardinals, Raiders, Chargers, Ravens, Bucs and a number of other teams could see their playoff hopes answered or dashed by the play of their offensive lines. The Packers are hoping to keep Brett Favre (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/profile?statsId=1025) upright with two rookie guards -- Tony Moll (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/profile?statsId=7914) and Jason Spitz (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/profile?statsId=7824). The thought going around the league is that just having an average offensive line would put you in the top 10 in the NFL. It's a big concern. "

I'd say our line is "above average"...and I do think that, if injury occured, Bugel would find a way to plug a guy in & make it work (whether it's Pucillo, Molinaro or Folau). We should still do well...esp. in comparison to most other teams.

If John Thompson has said that we're the NY Yankees of the NFL, then I would assume this to be a very good compliment.

My apologies for getting off subject here: But did anyone hear of the news with the Boston Redsox complaining about them not having enough resources to remain competitive with the Yankees. Now, I know everyone in their right state of mind looked at this as "being too complacent with what you have and not making an effort to be aggressive in the market." This surely reminds of alot of teams in the NFL!

As for the quarterback situation, take a look at Randy Johnson pitching at the age of 43 with the relief of a good supporting cast.
