Titans CB Pacman Jones arrested

NFL.com wire reports

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (Aug. 25, 2006) -- Tennessee Titans (http://www.nfl.com/teams/news/TEN) cornerback Adam "Pacman" Jones (http://www.nfl.com/players/playerpage/552555) was arrested outside a bar early Friday and charged with disorderly conduct and public intoxication.

According to the police report, officers saw Jones arguing loudly with a woman outside a nightclub where a rap concert had been held.

Jones, 22, was described by police as slurring his speech, having bloodshot eyes and smelling strongly of alcohol.

The arrest came at 1:34 a.m. CDT, the day after the Titans broke training camp.

Jones had already been excused from Friday's team schedule for personal reasons, according to The Tennessean. Jones was arguing with a woman he accused of stealing his wallet inside the club and passing it to one of her friends, according to police. Officers said they ordered Jones to leave several times, but he refused and continued to shout profanities.

Jones was released from custody in lieu of $750 bond.

The Titans did not immediately return a telephone message by The Associated Press, seeking comment.
Earlier in the week, Jones had talked about buying approximately 60 tickets for family and friends to watch him play against his hometown team, the Atlanta Falcons, Saturday night.

Almost three months after the Titans made him the sixth overall pick in the 2005 draft, Jones was arrested after an incident at a nightclub. The charges were later dismissed.

This guy is such a screw up and everytime I see him on the field he's gettin run over or makin a poor effort. He's got so much talent but no upside...what a waste. Once again, I'm so glad Rogers dropped to us, I wonder if they would have passed on Jones if he had fallen to us instead? :whoknows:

Lucky for us we got Rogers who we drafted instead of two knuckleheads like Pacman Jones and Mike Williams. Jones needs to grow up, the whole "wanna be thug" personna from him and a lot of these athletes is a joke because many of them really didn't have to grind on the street hustlin or whatever. They had athletic talent to get them oppurtunities that the guys on the street they emulate didn't have.

The Titans didn't do their homework on Pacman as a person. Clearly, he has issues off the field and is not a guy you want to build your defense around. Meanwhile, the Redskins sat there at #9 and got a better all-around football player in Carlos Rogers at a discount as he should have been taken ahead of Jones and Rolle.

WTF is wrong with this guy? I mean, I guess we've had our share of problems with ST, but this guy, along with Henry in Cincy, seems over the top...

well, fortunately we never got a chance at PacMan, but ya I forgot about Williams. I was kinda upset we didn't take him but obviously that was a  by me. Rogers is an excellent corner and I expect big things from him.

with Taylor and Rogers, clearly if the Skins are considering a defensive player at the top of the draft order, rest easy that Gregg Williams and Co. will evaluate the picks and ensure we get the right player ;)

Disorderly conduct and public intox? Good lord, I do that at every Skins tailgate. I'm sure this is not such a big deal. Happens all the time.

Jury's still out on Rolle after that injury, but it's not to early to say PacMan was a baad pick. He'd have to be performing his arse off on the field to make people forget about all these headaches, and he just isn't.

So far, so good with Carlos.

I for one have not been disappointed with Carlos Rogers because I believe that he is the second coming of Champ Bailey.

PacMan was heard on the NFL Network as taking shots towards Reggie Bush saying that "He was nothing special!" although not in those exact words. I do not know if this was in association to the pre-season match-up or if this was said out of animosity. Just speculating here!

But, was PacMan Jones really hyped up too much during his career with West Virginia?

Pacman was the real deal on the field..extemely talented young man, Hopefully he can turn himself around..an electric playmaker

is it a coincidence him and Henry went to the same school?

Pacman is a douche, and soon enough the coaches in Tennessee will realize that, unlike Sean Taylor, he isnt good enough to justify putting up with the nonsense.
