I am not sure if Pinky(Saunders) has gained the confidence of the Brain(Gibbs). But the bigger question for me and the rest of us is, Does Saunders trust what our O-line is being taught? I am sure he would much rather have his hand picked O-Line coach teaching the tecniques needed to run his offense. Watching game footage from the Rams and Chiefs, their line was tenacious and very athletic and active. Not that they were doing alot of zone blocking, but they did alot of pulling and trapping. Our line still tries smash mouth in your face style of blocking(with the exception of Samuals).

Our line has looked average at best but the talent is there to be dominate. At times they have looked confused and extremely slow. Pinky's offense requires timing and quick reaction and that is not the way our O-Line has been taught over the last 2yrs. I would love to see Campbell in there because i truely think Brunell has Flamed out, but with the way our line had played, I think Campbell would be running for his life. I truely hope no riff comes up between Pinky and the Brain Trust this season, but Pinky's rep is at stake and eventually he is going to want Total control of the offense and that includes the O-Line...........

P.s our line needs to get an attitude, maybe let Greg and Saunders have a day alone with them. :2cents: :2cents:

Whatever the case, both lines need to step it up big time if we are gonna make a run at this thing. Our d-line got no pressure on Brady and the o-line gave Brunell no time what so ever.

I am not so much worried about the D-Line. Gregg will compensate what rush they dont get with exotic Blitzes. Our O-Line is intact and healthy and they are having a hard time adjusting to the quick read and react style need to run this offense.

The o-line looked was terrible, they were giving Brunell no time. Did some replace our o-line with the cowgirls' o-line?

The OL is Buges' territory. Nobody fixes them but him.

Understandable but Bugal never ran with an offense like Saunders and im wondering what if any input Saunders is having in the Tecniques being taugh :2cents:

I'm not worrying about Bugel. If it can be done he will get it done!

Do you guys actually think that all the coaches go about their business without getting input from each other? I'm fairly confident that Saunders and Buges have spent many hours discussing the line play. Buges is the best out there at teaching technique, and it all starts there. If a linemen isn't sound in his technique, it doesn't matter who is designing the plays.

Our front five, as a group are a very solid. In the preseason, they are made to play to expose their own weeknesses so the coaching staff can pinpoint what work needs to be done. When the starting gun fires, these guys are going to look completely different from what we're seeing in the games ment to evaluate the players.

Credibility issues here...
We are not pulling and trapping or shifting or motioning or audibling or screening or picking or etc....get the picture?
Dude, we don't pull or guards? His name is Randy Thomas, one of the best in the business. We're not all smash mouth "gut and power", but the guys enjoy playing that type of football [refer to Jansen and Portis' comments last year]. Stop trying to figure this offense out in the pre-season. You won't see any pulling and trapping. Give your brain a rest "Pinky".

I see what you're saying and kind of agree. No doubt Bugel is a great teacher, but he's been used to that one kind of offense. This offense is a touch different and based on their play (unless they're sandbagging for some reason) they haven't been too dominant.

Our running game is pretty crappy and pass protection is non-existent. I can't imagine however, that Saunders and Bugel haven't been communicating. I guess its just new blocking schemes that have them looking like their wearing roller skates.

2 weeks left. They should be able to get it together. This team is gonna rule this year, I've got the faith. The offense has looked bland all together. All the stops should be pulled out at the Vikings game. Thats where the real plays come in.

things will work out. With the new offence it may just take a little longer

Well, so far it really has been an offence. :silly:

Does everyone really think every play is designed to put our players in a position to fail? Just so we can see how they handle the adversity, or just to see how much they can handle? That's how QBs get hurt. That's how players can get hurt. This may be happening, but not to the extent everyone thinks. Players are getting beaten on one-on-ones. It's a problem that has to be solved. Period.
My gut feeling says we're looking at a learning curve. I hope I'm wrong.
