Yeah it is Petey, but considering "he loves him some Parcells", and Still has them at #11.... very interesting to say the least

Goat of the Week
Drew Bledsoe, QB, Dallas. He wins this lovely award over left tackle Flozell Adams, who had two penalties and allowed two sacks in Jacksonville's 24-17 victory. Yes, Bledsoe's touchdown throw to Terrell Owens inside the two-minute warning was a thing of beauty. But his poorly thrown interceptions -- one by cornerback Rashean Mathis, the second by backup linebacker Nick Greisen -- cost the Cowboys the game
11. Dallas (0-1). Those footsteps you hear are Tony Romo's, Drew.
b. Bobby Carpenter being inactive for Dallas. I don't care how they spin it, the Cowboys have got to be disappointed at his slow adjustment from strongside outside linebacker to the inside.

NFL teams never, ever, ever pick up exactly where they left off the previous year.
Um the Cowboys did!!!

The pass to T.O. was a thing of beauty?
He threw it in when T.0. was turning out forcing Owens to make a great adjustment on the ball!
Thing of beauty my ass.

Bledsoe's pass TD Pass to Owens was NOT a thing of beauty, Bledsoe threw the pass to the wrong spot and Owens adjusted to it and made a good catch.

TO made a good play, Bledsoe looked like crap most of the day. He overthrew to Glenn and Owens most of the game. I still think they have a good shot at the prize though, we'll see what the Skins bring next week.

still too early to call out Bledsoe, they have no running game

I watched that game off and on yesterday, and didn't even think about the fact the Carpenter wasn't on the field. Not having their 1st rounder not even suit up had got to p**s Parcells off.

Um the Cowboys did!!!
You're right, another gutless performance. Their team has no heart or character. Of course, TO won't help either!

I was actually concerned when Dallas was up 10-0. My roommate, a Bears fan, asked why and I told him that last year when it rained against Seattle, Bledsoe played awful.
Granted, the O-Line pass protection was much better than the Seattle game last year, but Bledsoe was still missing on the same wide open passes and then started making bad reads.
I'm confident that if he gets the same type of protection and it isn't raining, he'll do much better. However, Dallas is going to play in some inclement weather conditions throughout the year and that doesn't bode very well.
Flozell didn't play well, but Paul Spicer's play didn't have a huge impact on the game. Bledsoe simply missed wide open receivers and then started making bad reads. It's as simple as that.

I just love a qb controversy...especially when it's in Dallas.
Bledsoe came out and torched who in preseason? Oh, yeah, New Orleans. And everyone is surprised when he looks bad against a good team?
BP is stuck with Bledsoe until he loses his third in a row or 4 out of five.
After that, it doesn't much matter.

I take it you missed the Saints game yesterday?? That New Orleans defense looked pretty good to me.
They gave up:
Passing - 101 yards
Rushing - 85 yards
Total - 186 yards

Yeah...against the Browns.

I was still surprised the Browns didn't take the game at home on opening day though.

Yeah...against the Browns.
I think the Browns might be ok this year. Braylon Edwards made it back from his ACL quicker than expected, Kellen Winslow is finally on the field and looks good, Reuben Droughns is a workhorse that'll get them 1200 yards. Frye is questionable but if he can even play decent, the Brownies could pull out 9 or so wins.
Romeo has done a good job with them. They might be players in a year or two.

I guess we should just qualify every accomplishment any team makes at any point in the season, never giving full credit to anyone.
The Cowboys didn't prove anything against the Saints, who may be better than we thought after a strong performance in Week 1, but ultimately are not because the Browns themselves aren't very good.
Whatever happened to the NFL being the league of ultimate parody? We learn every season that our pre-season impressions are rarely accurate, yet we have now discussed the Cowboys' performance by qualifying it through three degrees of opponent-measuring.
I'll make things simpler, if for no one else but myself: The Saints defense looked good in week 1. The Cowboys got off to a fast start, but looked mediocre the rest of the way.

You're joking, right?
Are you ready to proclaim the Jets offense "pretty good" after beating the Titans?
If you don't take into account the quality of the opponent against which the accomplishment was posted what good is the proclamation?
Debate without a point of reference is a waste of time.

I'm willing to say Pennington had a good game and the Jets O looked far better than I expected.
Last year after the Skins beat the Bears most people discounted their victory because it was against a team that was expected to be terrible, especially with Orton at QB. As things turned out, that was one of Washington's best performances of the year.
"Debate without point of reference is a waste of time."
^^ I agree completely. My point is that after one week we don't have an adequete point of reference.
