View Full Version : Eagles/Giants game is extremely pivotal

If Philadelphia can beat the Giants that would mean two divisional teams would be 0-2. One would stand at 1-1. And the Eagles would be atop at 2-0. Still very early in the season. But any chance you can get to get up on the division is important.

I think Reid needs to play this card. This could be a chance for the Eagles to put a stamp on the division to let everyone know they're back. I think it will be a very close game. The Giants looked good against a strong Colts team.

Should be a great game and a good appetizer for the Skins-Boys......too bad its a 1 pm start and not a 4 (I don't see much worth tuning into at 4 next week). Hate to say it, Who Del, but.......Go G-Men!!!

This week and Week 5(when the Skins play at New York and the Cowboys play at Philly)are going to be two HUGE weeks of early season NFC East ball.

As much as I would rather side with the eagles, I think I have to cheer for the Giants in this one. They face a tougher schedule anyway therefore they need to beat the Eagles to help out the skins in this one....the lesser of two evils i guess?

If it makes you feel any better, the Eagles are my least hated team in this division...I really don't "hate" them at all...but I'm still obligated to be a Giants fan in this one, as long as McNabb puts up big numbers in a loss (haha he's my fantasy qb)

It's going to take more than a win this week to put a stamp on the division!

Since I can never support the Giants, I'll be routing for your Eagles Who Del. Actually a tie would be okay! :gaintsuck

Week 2 is not too early. The Eagles were 0-6 last year against the division. This is ample time to lay the smack.

Lay the smack on the Giants, yes. Lay the smack on the division, no. Just off to a nice start! Good luck this week.

If you say so. Maybe the Eagles will decide to make an appearance anyway just in case they have a chance.

This game is huge. If the Giants win, both the eagles and Giants will be 1-1. Making the winner of the skins/boys game even bigger. One of us will either be 0-2, or tied for first place.

Both games should make for some great drama

As a Giants fan, this might sound crazy, but I don't think this is a "MUST WIN". I admit the Giants must win 1 of the next 2 games, but I think they have a great shot to beat Seattle. They're probably more pissed off about that loss than any other they had in 2005. Even though the Giants lost a home game, the 'Skins showed in 2005 losing AFC games isn't the end of the world if you handle your business in the conference. I don't really expect (I hope) to win games on the road in the division, especially one as tough as the NFC East.

I think the 'Skins game (@ DAL) is more of a must win because they're already down a tiebreaker to the Vikings and you don't want to lose another conference game.

Either way, going down 0-2 isn't the end of the world or the season.

I agree with your first point about, but slightly disagree with your second. I think the Eagles and Cowboys need to win this weekend. In order to have a chance to win this division, I think you have to go at least 3-3, which is most easily done by winning your home games.

Seeing the debacles called games between the Giants and Eagles last year, I honestly do believe the Eagles can beat them this week, unless Eli has made huge leaps/bounds in his development. I will be most interested to watch the DL/LBs and if they can stop Tiki. God knows we've seen him reel off enough runs against us in his career - we should be able to by now.

LOL! No. :twitch:

Actually, Who Del, my only point was that of COURSE this game is pivotal. It's as obvious as the noses on our faces. You are a big contributor to this section and better than this thread, Homey!

it's not a must win, but it could be a statement game. "announce your presence with fraking authority". the gints go 0-2 after winning the division last year, and everybody in the media will be talking how about philly's back{they never left imo}, and the giants got in by default. 0-2 and the ny media will be all over eli.
