I need some assistance and input. I joined a league with some people and went through a live draft that I participated in via phone over the Labor Day Weekend. When I checked into the league to set my roster I browsed over to the scoring rule section. The rules are as follows

Rushing

Once a RB gets to 100 yards they then begin to accrue 1 point for every ten yards after 100. So 105 yards rushing gets 0 points

Recieving

Same as above but points accrue after 60 yards recieving. No points for receptions.

Defense

16 points to start out with 7 for a defensive touchdown, 2 each for int and sacks. points come off for scores against not yardage

Kicking- 3 per field goal with a 1 point bonus for every 10 yards longer than 30.

Touchdowns

Standard 6 points for rushing and recieving with a 1 point bonus for every 10 yards gained while scoring the touchdown. Example Heath Millers touchdown against the Dolphins netted 16 points.

My question has to do with fairness of the scoring system. This system obviously makes a kicker more valuable than a reciever and a defense more valuable than a RB or QB. My question is should the commish change this or leave it.

Who the hell came up with that? It is tougher for a RB to get to 100 yds than it is for a WR to reach 60 or even 100. Must be some low scoring games I would assume and not much excitement when a player rushes for 100 yds and you get 0 pts :wtf:

That scoring system is B.S. Warrick Dunn would have had 2 or fewer(usually 0) points in 12 out of 16 games last year and he had 1416 yards last season. This system needlessly complicates things and it really takes a whole lot of skill out of drafting because 65% of your roster each week will have no points and your defense will end up with negative. I'll bet that at least one game this year in that scoring system will be won by a team with negative points.

Yeah, that is a messed up scoring system, never heard of anything like it. Who are "these people" that created the league? Are they even football fans? I would have no fun being in a league like that. Of course, you should always know the scoring system before joining a league or drafting. Buyer beware as they say...good luck though!

that is some crazy scoring, but thing is, everyone is affected by it, even the commish. And it seems like if a running back scores a long run, they benefit. That would be unfair I guess against good backs playing good defenses who don't allow long runs.

You can complain, but I think as everyone is affected, it doesnt matter. Plus surprises happen (who would expect Heath Miller to have that long of a score?)
