Are these guys going to continue to be competent, and even good? Or will they revert back to their past as injured/sucking?

Smith has some weapons - Gore, Davis, Bryant....but I would bench him this next week (against Philly)...
Not so sure about Grossman...I think its a mirage, personally.

Ugh...I wish I knew. I have Grossman as a backup - behind Roethlisberger and Pennington - yet, my "gut" was telling me all week long to start him against the Lions....but noooooooooooo....I start the doubtful Big Ben instead....
I would have already won my game if I started Rex...instead, I'm down by 20 points heading into tonight....dammit!
Anyway, I think Grossman will be a serviceable backup in the coming weeks. I think the Bears D will provide some benefit to Grossman/the offense in terms of good field position and such...and you might see a TD toss or two from him...but I sure ain't relying on him as a starter.

Hasselback should start putting up #'s when Branch gets situated in the offense. Jackson and Branch with Alexander equals - decent or above average stats for Hasselback.

I picked Grossman up just "in case" and to keep him away from others. I'm solid on Gore and Bryant but something about Smith keeps me away. The thing is, the 49ers are going to be in twice as many shoot outs this year. I'd say Smith ends up with the better numbers by a soild difference.
