LMAO some of you happy go get lucky people just needs to wake up!! This team is far far away from being a good team, and now you are talking about Playoffs? We dont have a QB that can make plays, JC needs to get playing time since this season already gone down the s#$#!! This coaching staff told us to trust them before the season started that they had bags of tricks to show us.. Well I feel like they are bunch of liars!! What are the odds for making the playoffs for teams that are 0-2 right now?? Everything about this team stinks right now except for Taylor and Frost!! JG should have never given the O play calling to Saundres. Once again our beloved team is the joke of the league!!

Two game do not make a season. We are only 1 game out of first in the division. We will be all right.

If we lose to houston, them I will say the redskins suck and I will switch to a new team, but after the 3-0 start, we ****ed up, and then we went 2-6, so don't give up, We could go 14-2.
We have no running back and springs who is our best corner, only has Carlos with him that played alot.

']Finally, somebody has spoken some reason.
Yea some good reasoning...2 players will come back after not playing since August and magically all our problems will get fixed and our sharp looking divisional opponents will get worse...then we will make the playoffs!!!!
As of right now statements like these can be easily out argued. In 2 games, the positives have drastically outweighed the negatives and 2 players aren;t going to change all of that. Clinton will definitly help, but there is still questionable playcalling. There is still an offensive line that isn;t looking up to par, there is still a qb that can;t run a game, and there is still a defensive front that can't pass rush and can;t tackle. Plus Springs won;t be a HUGE upgrade. I think having Springs and harris in there is was worse then Rogers and Rumph however our d is still doing bad. Plus, D-backs can;t cover forever. Our D front let's qb's stand back in the pocket for over 5 seconds on almost every pass play. And trust me, springs will not help the front 4. We must all think that this team will be bad until the team proves us wrong.

So if we get beat by Houston, you will switch to another team to pull for? Your last name wouldn't be Fairweather would it?

We are two down when we shouldn't be. Clinton will suffer because they are loading up in the box for the run and dropping back into short zones for the short passes that Brunell cant even complete.

Put a decent quarterback in there who can get the ball to our quality receivers and the Redskins will be great. As long as Mark B is in there our chances of winning are slim. The coaches should put more work into Jason Campbell.

Futhermore, when Brunell scrambles everyone spys him and then he throws the ball out of bounds with atleast 2 receivers on the other side of the field jumping up and down waiting for the ball.

Funny thing is if we WIN next week against a horrible Texans everyone is going to jump back on the wagon again, I promise you if we win next week will be by a field goal only but I have a bad feeling we are going 0-3 come next Sunday!! I predicted 35-10 blow out to the pukes, it was 27-10, I hope I am wrong on this one.

The playoffs are still a possibility...but things have to get turned around sooner than later without having to win out 5 straight games or more, which is beyond taxing.
I, like most, if not all fans am frustrated to say the least... and probably lost it a bit after last night, a bit irrational...ie the Start Jason Campbell Now Sig lol
After comming back to my senses...and giving the game some thought. There are more problems there than blaming Brunell solely...very unfair in that placed blame, while he was most certainly a big part of it.
There was no running game to take the pressure off Brunell. The D doesn't respect the run...you get in third and long passing situations and the Defense releases the hounds. We haven't seen the O with CP in there full time yet. Should one guy make that much of a difference? maybe.
The O-line is not getting it done either...protection break downs...lack of running lanes...no push, no pocket created.
Brunell holds the ball too long..I don't know if it was due to players not being open, or if the defense had them covered that well?...his giving up on letting plays develop too soon..taking little to no chances with letting his playmakers make plays on the ball? I really don't see the point of having a Santana Moss, Randle El, Lloyd, etc. if you fail to get the ball in the hands of those guys and let them make plays.
The offense obviously isn't clicking yet...I'm not sure of the playcalling...far as if it has been good on Saunders part, not executed by Brunell or the rest of the offense for that matter...or what.
With Jason Campbell you get a guy who has the athleticism and arm strength to make plays...but with that playmaking ability you get a young player that will make costly mistakes negating those couple good plays. Not sure if now is the time just yet.
With Todd Collins you get a player who knows, or should know Saunders system like the back of his hand. On the flip side you get an average to below average athlete, as well as a guy who hasn't played as a starter in what I think I read was 8 years..or doesn't have significant pt as a starter. We seem sunk in the QB department...not sure what the answer is.
Obviously things aren't close to looking good right now. 3 pts generated by the offense. The D being asked to do too much...and still the broken record mantra..the front 4 doesn't generate a respectable pass rush. With that said the season is far from over and there is time to make a run at this thing yet. Can only hope that happens b4 we're looking at next year being our year "AGAIN".

If i am correct (which i am), we were 5-6 with 5 games left last year. Brunell was even more tired than he is now, and we had 3 divisional games left and 3 games on the road.
What is the difference between then and now.
Springs hurt (will be back soon)
Portis (back next week)
Brunell (more energy now then last year at 5-6)
Better WRs
Offense that can only improve
Now, the only real negatives from then and now is that we have 2 players hurt and a new offense. They will be back soon, and thats when we have to make that push to get back to respectability. The offense will come and it really can only get better (it cant do any worse).
We are in a better situation at 0-2 than what we were at 5-6 last year.
Look at the 0-2 teams
Carolina
Bucs (i always thought they sucked)
Miami
Giants were a play away from 0-2
These are all respectable teams and although new forces have risen the NFC like the bears (have an offense now), NO (not going anywhere), Atl, and minny, we dont have to go through them to win the NFCE.

I wish I could agree.....I love my Skins and will be a fan through thick and thin...but I think this season is going to be really, really thin. I'm not sure we can win another game :-( The new offense just is not working and the defense (except for the mighty Sean Taylor) is not helping.
0-2 I could deal with (never really expected us to beat Dallas) but the way we lost and the way we looked is....hopeless.....

This thread obviously needs an homer's input, and I happily volunteer:
In 1984, Joe Gibbs' Redskins started 0-2. They went on to win the next FIVE IN A ROW, and finished the season 11-5. They not only won the division, they also earned a first round bye, and also earned the right to play the first playoff game at home.

just looking at the games we have before the bye, the playoffs are'nt looking so promising right now.i think we'll beat houston next week to go 1-2.next up is the jags, and by looking at their game right now against the steelers(9-0 final, jags win),their defense is really impressive. as of right now i'd chalk that game up as a loss.now we're sitting at 1-3.next up is the g-men on the road.(remember last year?-36-0) that puts us at 1-4. then we get the titans at home, which i think we'll win to go 2-4. next up is the colts on the road. put that one down as a loss. ok, so we're 2-5 at the bye week. realistically to have a shot at the playoffs, i'd say we have to go 10-6. so that means we could only lose one more game the rest of the way. i know we did the whole "5 in a row or we dont go" thing last year but a "8 out of 9 or we'll get left behind" is a bit of a stretch. anyways, these are my feelings based on the way things are going right now.

Teams that start out 0-2 lets see i heard this tonight.I think 17 out of 128 teams that start out like that maek the playoffs. So as of right now it does not look good.I will tell you right now with the way we have looked the last 2 weeks. We will not make the playoffs and JC will start week 9.

Good post. Some people on this bored make me sick sometimes. Anything is possible. We will win at Houston. That will give us confidence and then we have a home game. We need to get LOUD when we play Jacksonville.
I know why Fedex isn't as loud as it should be. It's because many loud, diehard fans can't get or afford tickets. Many very wealthy people, some of which don't really care about the skins that much. I tend to believe that they just think of it as a nice sunday afternoon activity. Maybe I am wrong. But that is what I seem to notice.

yea because who makes the pro bowl really matters. The falcons had seven pro bowlers and choked their way to a 8-8 finish last year. If you are going to bash the Skins go ahead but referring to the amount of pro bowlers we have is rediculous. Moss, portis and taylor arent pro bowl caliber?...give me a break.

You must obviously believe that Brunell will beat 5 other teams other than Houston since you said "6-10 If brunell is the starter for the year"
The stupidity and lack of faith and lack of football knowledge is unbelievable on this site.
To those who think that they might switch teams if things keep going that way then in all essense you have already switched. Being a true fan means unwavering loyalty through thick and thin.

Playoffs? Playoffs? we'll be lucky if we can win another game who said anything about playoffs?
Here we go again! I remember last year when we lost game after game after game and someone said we were not going to make the playoffs.
When it was five games left in the season and we had to win each one to make the playoffs, there were only a few who said we would, including myself. We all know what happened next!
So, I ask you...here it is only the second game of the season and you're already saying we won't make the playoffs? Were you one of the ones who also said we wouldn't make it last year? Did last year not teach you anything?
Please don't think I am jumping on you. I'm just trying to remind you how sometimes we may speak too soon. Now, I can't guarantee that we will make the playoffs; however, I did say we would go 11-5 or 12-4 this season. With that being said...we have two or three more games to lose, according to my prediction. :fingersx:

Question is not to make the playoffs, it's just about to improve from last year, that means at least to play for the NFC championship game

Two game do not make a season. We are only 1 game out of first in the division. We will be all right.
Look, let's be realistic. Do you think the team is happy right now with Brunell back there?
Did anyone see the play in which Brunell totally missed a wide open Santana Moss. The result was a sack. Santana looked like he was about to blow a fuse and Jansen just shook his head in disbelief at his QB.
I know that the OL is playing terrible, but there were times when our stinkin' QB had time in the pocket. It was during these times that he backpedalled back to the endzone from the 50 just to get sacked again.
Look, something's awry with MB. As long as he's in as QB, this season is over.

Sigh...the same thing was applied to our poor performance in preseason. People were saying, Joe went 0-4 in this year and we did such and such in the regular season. Now we go 0-2 and we make comparisons to 1984?
Come on! I'm tired of this. It's 2006 and if you're blind enough to believe that our current QB is anything but washed up, I feel sorry for you.

Well a wild card team won the Superbowl last year, and I still think this team can and will succeed. The beginning of the season is always ugly and very unpredictable.
Nobody will remember the first two weeks of the season come November.

We could make the playoffs but the entire offense needs to start producing more than 3 points a game.
