Philadelphia Eagles running back Brian Westbrook missed practice on Wednesday because of a sore knee and is questionable for the game against the San Francisco 49ers.
Westbrook missed practice last week because of swelling in his knee, but did play in Philadelphia's loss to the Giants in overtime. Westbrook rushed for 68 yards and a touchdown, and caught seven passes for 56 yards. He also had a critical fumble in the fourth quarter.

Westbrook needs to show people he can play 16 games. Not durable.

He hurt it in practice going into the Giants game. He expereicned unexpected knee inflamation. He is now experiencing residual soreness from playing on that inflamed knee.
He won't practice all week, but I'm sure will play on Sunday.

I can't believe I drafted that ****er on my fantasy team. I always panic in the heat of the moment.

I've had him in a keeper league for a few years now and his injuries really havn't been too problematic. Once you're down into the second-tier RBs anyway, most of them will end up missing a game or two per season.
He's not a great option, but for the most part he consistently puts up above 13 points a week.

Me too. I benched him last week because I thought he would have sat out. Sucks, 'cause he would've gotten me some points. I won anyway though. :)

True, but I could've taken Frank Gore. Hindsight is 20/20, you know.

Clearly, WB will not play every game this season. In fact, my guess is that by the end of the Dallas game, he's out for an "extended period of time". Just a guess, but that's what I say. He's never proven, at least in the NFL, to be able to handle the pounding.

Gore has been so money...glad I took a chance on him with a few of my teams.

Any updates, Eagles brethren?
Is Correll the definite #2? Or would Moats dip into his PT?

I imagine we would see some combination of Moats and Buckhalter.
If you're looking for fantasy advice, I would definitely go with Buckhalter over Moats, assuming Westbrook is out.
The more I think about it, the more it seems like they may hold Westbrook out of this one.

Excellent.
I'm going to Atlantic City this weekend and won't have a chance to change my fantasy line-up. So now I can gamble with my mind at peace. :)

the knee actually flared up because of the orthotics he was fitted with after injuring his foot/ankle in preseason. orthotics tend to make a person balance unlike they would when just standing in bare feet or a regular pair of shoes and i'm guessing in this situating they forced him to put a lot of pressure on his knees when standing and running. i think they switched to a different orthotic though, so it should heal with time.

I see that as good news/bad news for Westbrook.
Good news that the knee is fine. (Orthotics can have that effect like you said)
Bad news that his foot mechanics are still a problem.
