This article says what us Redskins' fans already know. He is done. Gibbs and company did the right thing by getting rid of him.

I'd say that piece qualifies as devastating... if you can't play the pass, don't play the run, and won't hustle, what exactly is left?

Yeah the Giant fans are really upset with him, just look at their boards, make me chuckle. :gaintsuck

This just goes to prove for all the doubters, Gibbs and our coaching staff know what they are doing.

I really, really, really, really, really like(d) LA and was EXTEMEMLY pissed when we didn't play him last year. BUT...it seems that I am not an NFL genious because I can now see why. Don't think I'll ever be getting an NFL coaching job!

you mean the same Joe Gibbs who went to Arrington's pad to try to talk him into staying?

arrington was all about $$$$$.

That is the harshest thing I've ever seen written about Arrington. Ouch.

Not to many Giants fans thought we were getting the Arrington from 4 years ago. We all knew we were getting an above average LB at best. He is better then the alternative we have and he was cheap because unless he goes to the pro bowl and puts up monster stats he won't reach any of his bonuses.

By the way are you guys ready to say that Brandon Lloyd is a bust? After two games he has had less of a contribution then Arrington and he gets paid more.

Then why don't they bench Brunell?

Yikes! While I am glad he is nolonger a Skin - I still feel for the guy.

Never mind - what am I saying? How much money has he made the past few years for doing next to nothing?

Lloyd with your O would have 20 catches

I'm pretty sure that's not how it went down...it's been reported that Gibbs sat down with him and presented him two options. Either stay with us and rework his contract or pay us the 4 mil to get out of it. I don't think Gibbs was talking him into anything.

Also my guess is that, that particular conversation happened at Redskins park and not at Arringtons pad. ;)

I got really soured on him with his whole "double nickels" act with the Giants before this season, doesn't break my heart he's not doing well after what he said about his orginization

LaVar didn't used to be AS lazy as he appears to be now, but he's always had
problems freeing himself from offensive linemen and backs when in pursuit of the QB. He doesn't seem to have or hasn't developed any moves that help him get off of blocks. It's the equivalent of a Center in basketball who's never developed any post moves. Maybe that comes from laziness or not being a student of the game.

Too bad their washed up player is a LB which is nothing compare to having a washed up QB

What he had going for him before was his freakish athleticism. Now that he has chronic knee problems I would say he doesn't really have much to offer anymore.

I posted in the other thread about this same exact thing but good job by the writer making assumptions for the whole year based on two games. Maybe he should have waited until January to write this.

Tom, the thing is it hasn't just been the last two games. It's not about system, it's the simple fact that he is not the same player as he once was. He stopped being that player over a year ago. I'm not calling Lavar a stupid player, but he does not have the desire to be a student of the game which would mitigate to some extent the physical talent he has lost due to injury. It looks like based on this article he has also lost the desire to hustle and at least make an effort. I would be willing to give him more than two games to see if he can rectify that, but his other failings at this point has been well documented for over a year.

Well you guys have the great Al Saunders how can your offense be so bad?

Point is Lloyd has 1 catch in your offense and thats all that matters.

Arrington on the Ravens Def would have 5 sacks 3 ints and 45 tackles after 2 games. See I can make up stats to

Because they know what they are doing. Let's see Brunell with a running game now.

P.S. If that was sarcastic, please disregard any of the above statements :D .

The G-Men broke even in Linebackers from the Skins. Pierce is a beast and Arrignton is a loafer.

Lavar was one of the best athletes I'd ever seen, but watching him the last weeks I couldn't believe how slow and stiff he looked.

Enjoy NY!

I guess you can't wonder why he was benched on 3rd downs last year.

I don't think he ever lived up to his potential, ever. I met the guy at training camp a few years ago he is a chiseled man, muscles on muscles. I guess he never dedicated himself to being a pro. Waste of talent and physical God given gifts

The problem is that what you are seeing in NY this year is what we saw in DC last year. It is not just 2 games. It is every game he has played in for the last year. He reminds me of Randy Moss now...a couple of highlight plays a game and the rest of the time he looks like he is going through the motions. It is sad to see it and say it but he is just a shell of the guy who used to keep offensive coordinators and QBs awake at night the week before playing the Skins.

Add to that the fact that Arrington has never been interested in really studying the game and you have a guy whose current on field performance is tough to defend. He used to get by on raw talent, speed and instinct. It made him a beast on 80% of his plays or so and a real liability on the other 20% (ask a skins fan about how many times he was baited out of his assignment on 3rd and long play and the opponents got a 1st down going right through where he should have been). I have thought since his 3rd year or so that if he only had the study habits of Ray Lewis or Antonio Pierce or Marcus Washington that he would have been the most dominate LB of his age but alas, he does not. If he were to just study film a bit more or commit a few tendencies to memory each week, he would be so much more effective.

However, it appears that he has gotten by on his instincts combined with his speed for so long that he does not know how to compensate for the loss of one of those.

Nor does he appear to care.
