Not that anybody cares, but they love Walt Harris in SF. He is the leader of their defense. No kidding. Also, Jacobs hasn't amounted to anything and is out with a hamstring.

San Francisco is densely populated with homosexuals.

You're right.
I don't care.

I'm happy for the guy.
I was very pumped when we signed him, but he disappointed some. Towards the end of last year, he started playing pretty well.
Good for him!

Having watched both Niners game - the SF D weakness is their secondary. Harris might be a leader - but he isn't anything special.
The one player that Washington did lose to the Niners yeara ago that we could have used for years is/was Derek Smith.

My bud is a devout SF fan and I see most of their games...Harris is going great for them...he's a good guy, and often played well for us, and like so many others before, got beyond criticized and was completey trashed by the "expert" fans. Happens here a lot when things aren't goin well and people want blood. I didn't object to his departure or think he was great, he just got more trash thrown his way than warranted. Nothing new.

OMG!!!!! Although, not funny...I couldn't help bust out laughing. Your delivery was impeccable.

I knew Walt Harris always had the ablity to be a shutdown corner. That was his rep coming out of college and being select high in the first round after college. When he came to the Redskins Harris game had slacked off a lot. But it's good to know that he's doing better in San Fran.

Actually, Walt Harris is playing very, very well. Much better than he did here. And much, much better than anybody we've got back there.

Seems like we're always glad to get rid of someone and then the next year we're pissed that we did cuz his replacement stinks!! Although....Brunell needs to go NOW!!

I can't beleive that we switched Harris for Wright. No contest there. Wright just isn't very good.
Everyone kept saying that Wright was a starter for Jacksonville but that isn't correct. While he did start out the season as a starter, it didn't take them long to figure out that he sucked bigtime and to get him out of the lineup.
I don't know what Gibbs and Williams thought they were getting when they picked him up, but he isn't a good player, at all. I know they wanted him as the nickel corner, and that's what he'll be once Springs is back, but he isn't going to help at all as a third corner either. Personally, I think Rumph should be the nickel corner because, while not good, he's better than Wright.
Because of their size, neither are ideal for the nickel corner, really. Most team's slot receiver is a smaller, quicker type player, and both Rumph and Wright are bigger, slower (or at least not very quick) corners. They have a hard time changing directions with quicker WR's. I know that Williams likes big, physical corners... but the nickel CB needs to be able to keep up with the quick slot receivers.
Oh well, it is what it is. Once Springs gets back, our coverage will improve greatly, so we just have to wait on that. However, we will be vulnerable to the slot guys all year long, so we need to get Taylor to help out Wight or Rumph as much as possible.

Boy, there is a surprise...this guy may as well hang it up.

Actually Harris had a very good 2004, but his 2005 was inconsistant. He was a good tackler, but the problem was, he was burned on alot of plays that required him to make a tackle. He was a good run stopper also.
People are being hard on Wright now, like that did to Harris. With that said, Wright reminds me of Harris, up and down. One good game, one bad. I think Wright will be better once Springs comes back and he can play the nickle.

Yeah I think Walt Harris fit right in.

Walt Harris was very undervalued during his time here. I always felt that way. We've been spoiled by the play of Green, Bailey, and Springs (when fully healthy). Quarterbacks have to pick on someone in the secondary. When it was Harris's turn, he won 97% (estimation) of those battles. If Springs had been picked on as much as Harris, he probably would have looked the same.

He looks sick, saw the whole game sunday. I'm shocked. I mentioned this on another thread but everyone hates me. Except Jumbo

Walt was battling with Tory Holt 1 on 1 for a good number of plays. He was winning most of those battles as well.

Lord knows I got bashed with a bunch of "homer" insults when I'd defend him
if he'd stayed as just the nickel cb, he'd probably still be here

Likewise. Good one.
Because Portis' displays his flaming homosexuality by surrounding himself at all times with women hotter than you could talk to in your wettest of dreams.
Kinda like me saying, Yo 9 to 42, they'd really like you on a planet where people have 8 arms. Because you have 8 arms.

Walt just stripped Greg Lewis when Philly was driving to go up by 3 scores.
Guy's playing great for SF; too bad we outright cut him. We could definently use an extra CB atm. Wish he had a better year last year...

He was released for salary cap reasons and given a chance to
start (good money also) by SF. Wright is getting paid the
vet. minimum.
