i know the O's forum hasnt been visited very often rescently since we've been out of the playoff hunt since April:doh: but i'm hoping we can have a decent amount of responses to this thread.

i really think it's time for Gibbons to go. He's hurt way to often, he strikes out way to much, his power #'s haven't been good for a while now, and he's very unclutch it seems everytime hes up with the bags full he grounds into a DP. And now we have Markakis, i really don't see a place for Gibbons to play. He could try to play first but i think we'll go try to get someone in Free agency this year.

o well just my :2cents:

i agree... hes an average OF that we should not waiting to get healthy every single year.. reggie sanders produced better #s than gibbons and hes almost in his 40s and gibbons does not even want to play first...

I unfortunately cant watch the O's anymore since I moved to FL, but over the years when I was living in MD, I always saw great potential in Gibby. When he hit his homers, he hit them FAR. But he always seems to be injured and I now I see him being another O's player who never lives up to his potential.

O and that orange hair......

very true, he had great potential and we gave him a few seasons to reach it. Now i think most of us have realized that he will never reach that potential. amd yes he is another O's player who never lives up to his potential, we've had a lot of them:doh:

I agree with you. he should leave, there no place for him on the league. He is a avergae player, to me he seems to be inconsistant, and the worst part that he is always injured. The only position he could probably play if 1st. But I would rather sign somebody else for that position.

I agree that's it's time for him to go, but we're stuck with him for another 3 years... dude just can't stay healthy, and even if he is, I agree that he's an average MLB player... definitely not worth the 7 mill or whatever they're paying him per year.

I've also sensed an attitude change with him.... in my mind, he has made it obvious that he doesn't like the DH or 1B, which is probably where he'll be for the rest of his time in Baltimore..... doesn't this guy understand that Markakis is the future in RF... that Nick is a much better player and fielder than he is.... Gibbons needs to shut his yapper and be happy that he's even given the opportunity to play.

Oh, and I also heard that he's now bitching about the screen at Camden Yards... apparently his wife was hit by a foul ball and is crying about it...

Our best rated prospect in the minors is an outfielder, Nolan Reimold
maybe he will live up to his potential and not be hurt all the time.

Yea we could move him to first but he'd be pretty weak offensivley at the slow corner. I'd rather reserve first for some over grown fat testosterone injecting lefty who hits the ball a mile and couldnt run if his life depended on it...how much you think we'd have to trade to get him?
