Well the playoff start this weekend. DC United lost their final match of the year 3-2 to also playoff bound Chicago. DC United has the New York Red Bulls first on Saturday. The match is set for 2:00.
The other eastern teams are the NE Rev, and the Chicago Fire
Western teams: Colorad Rapids, FC Dallas, Chivas USA, and Houston Dynamo.
DC Should win the first round and more than likely will play the Chicago Fire. The winner of that (I Hope United) will probably play FC Dallas for the championship.

DC United won 1-0 on the road. Next week they come back to RFK for game 2. Hopefully there will be a large crowd to lead the team on.

RFK always seems to have a good crowd. The Black Out deal thing should also help. I see United having no problems closing out the Red Bulls.

The Blackout should really help. On MLSnet.com there was an article on predictions for the playoffs. The guy said DC United would lose 1-0 in NY, then going to RFK the crowd would be too much, DC Winning 3-1.
Winning in NY helps a lot. Hopefully DC can blank NY. 3-0 would be nice to get the big Mo on DC's side for the next round.

He must've had eyes in the back of his head on that play. Unreal.

Is it just me or did it look like Fercundo Erpen kicked Eric Wynalda's dog? Granted DC sucked but it just seemed like Eric Wynalda wanted New York to win.

is anyone else pissed off that they scheduled the game for 4pm on Sunday, thereby making it impossible to go to both the DCU and 'skins game?

I would be mad if I had the possibility to go. However, it's good if you're watching on television, because you can watch the Redskins' game and then the United.

Watched the whole game this morning (had to get up at 4:30am to see it) How did Gomez get MVP ??????
Boswell was far far better than him covered every blade of grass and put in a power of work off the ball he was my man of the match.
Great game though when Red bull scored I had a sinking feeling that it was all over. I have ordered my DC united top and look forward to wearing it with pride :logo:

The person who scores the goal would generally get MVP.
D.C. United is still the only team I believe will do good every year. I never had a doubt that they would come out on top.

Thats crazy ! nothing against him but boswell done so much more for the team, I was not impressed by Landon who up until this morning I had rated a lot higher very impressive long throw though but if I was a red bulls fan he is who I would want on the reciving end of a long ball not the giving end !

Hey Aberdeen, long time. I was at the game, and while Boswell is a sick Defender, the entire back line was SLOPPY. I think that more than anything hurt his chances for MVP. DC United has to step up their back line play if they want to get passed New England.
Boswell, since he scored the goal, was the only real choice for MVP.

Im pretty sure it was Dunivant. A friend of mine, who i was watching the game with, had the same problem. something to do with the way the announcer pronounces his name (kinda dropping the T). it makes more sense verbally.
John Spencer's in MLS as well (he finally retired after playing in Colorado and is an asst w/ Houston who for some reason signed Paul Dalglish (yup, the son))

Thank you mystery solved it was driving me mad I had been on the wikkipedia site to look at their squad trying to figure out.
I knew dalgleish was over there as he left Hibs (our rival equivilant of the brokeback cowboys) as he was to poor even for them I was very surprised when he got an MLS contract as I did not think he was at that level.
God I hate Hibs even typing that name makes me mad

Oh well. It was a good season in the beginning. If anyone wants to search back, I posted my concerns on DC coming out so fast and so hard so early. They definitly hit a wall and were not playing their best soccer when it counted.
Of DC's 4 championships, I believe they came back at the end of the season to turn it on for the Playoffs. This I feel lies totally on Nowak. Hopefully he can adjust it a little better for next year. It was obvious DC had the talent, just not the legs at the end.
