View Full Version : Giants over the pukes?

Seems to be a difficult task being in Dallas, but we'll see.
If Dallas does lose, I'd say that confirms they're a mediocre team....and that the Giants are a good team.

Romo threw two passes in garbage time. It's not like he brought them back on a 4th quarter comeback drive.

From a statistical standpoint, Dallas is doing a lot of things well. They are dominating the running game battle, have a solid sack ratio, are doing a solid job of forcing turnovers, doing very well in first quarter scoring differential, and their points allowed per game is decent.
The big problem is Bledsoe. In their losses to Philly and Jacksonville, Bledsoe's turnovers were the majority of the problem. And while most criticize his mobility and holding onto the ball too long, I'm more worried about his inability to anticipate his receivers this year. It's not just throwing to Owens, he's struggled anticipating Witten and Crayton as well. The only guy he seems to anticipate well is Terry Glenn.
I'll take a win any way the Cowboys can get it, but if I had my choice I'd like to see Bledsoe play a mediocre game, but not turn the ball over. If he does that and Dallas wins easily, then it would be easy for me to see that the rest of the team is pretty good when their QB doesn't screw it up for them. Unfortunately, it will still mean that they rely on a shaky QB.

I have to agree with TR on this one that if the pukes do not win at home they should be dropped down to an average team that has to scramble to make the playoffs. If the Giants do win you have to give them props for winning on the road in back-to-back games.
I also agree that this should be a good game.

Point was Romo has been gaining support through the organization, media and fans. Although only going in for a period of garbage time, he did what supporters expected. Most important was getting his feet wet which he did successfully.
Bledsoe can now begin to feel him breathing down his neck.

The NFL is a funny thing. IF the Skins somehow win at the Colts, we take the gun from their heads, at least for tw more weeks. If they lose, with Dallas and Philly after the bye, they are as good as done.
This weekend will tell a lot about the NFC East.
Eagles at the Bucs. If they lose, well, they are not a good team. Should be 5-2 with only the Jags, at home, standing in the way of 8-2.
Giants at Dallas. This is a tough one. I expect the Cowboys to win, because they are the better team. We'll see. If the Giants win, I still wouldn't count the Boys out completely. If McNabb was on their team, they'd be undefeated. Such is life.
Skins at Indy. Do or die. I don't think the Skins have the coaching, talent, or desire to win this game on the road. I see it being close for a bit but the Colts pulling away late. We can all blame Brunnell afterwards; even if the defense gives up 40.

You didn't mention any of our injuries on defense...think it might have anything to do with a potential loss?
Our offense may keep us in this game, though.
And if we pull it out in Indy, you will start shaking in your boots...we have two games with you guys...
The winner of this division will be 10-6 or 9-7...and no home field advantage in the playoffs...

Hey, I'm not the guy who thought that acceptable depth meant a couple of late round rookies backing up a few 30+ year old defensive lineman. Danny Snyder did. If you want to be mad at anyone, be mad at him.

Be real. Shawn Barber is having a great year, what are you talking about. In the nickle defense, he is doing his job very well. Buckhalter is averaging over 4 yards a carry.
The Eagles have a plan when it comes to depth. The Skins do not. They are too busy star shopping to really be concerned with backup OL, DL, Kicker, DBs, etc.
Thats why you wind up signing a kicker week 5 and a safety week 6. You have no plan. Depth isn't sexy. With the Skins, sexy always wins.

Revisionist history.
The barber signing at the time was being slammed on all fronts, and they knew he was only going to contribute part time.
The fact that he's doing this well is a surprise to a lot of people.
Buckhalter was a huge questionmark.
Moats hurt his knee early in camp.
Westy went down with a sprained foot in the preseason opener, and he had a lisfranc sprain in the other foot just a year earlier.
You can spin it all you want, but the fact remains that the Eagles rolled the dice on Linebacker, which they have for a few years now, and on runningback, where Westbrook is the most important component of their offense after MvNabb.
There is some argument for the LB situation, because they don't rely on them as much as other teams, but ythere is no excuse for how they handled the RB situation.
It put their whole season potentially in jeopardy.
And still may.
That is no plan. Just because it's working out doesn't mean it's a plan.

Hey dock, of course we shouldn't go by what happens on the field. We should go off of how free agent moves are lauded in the press as an indication of how good of a move it was. In that case, the Skins are the best team in the league.
You ever even think that maybe the Eagles KNEW what they were getting and weren't guessing at all? They've made lots of questionable moves over the last few years and it has produced a winning formula.
Just because we have 100s of threads in the offseason where you were clearly WRONG, doesn't mean the Eagles didn't have a sound plan.

How have they proven they are a better team than the Giants by beating those teams? The Giants have won in Philly and in Atlanta. Ugh, you are a disgrace to real Eagles fans. Seriously. Coming on a Skins board to congratulate them? Are you really that hard up for friends?
Del, you are going to be well liked around here. As long as you keep bashing the Eagles and kissing Skins fans asses.
Good luck with that.
Actually, if anyone has a few minutes to spare and wants a HUGE LAUGH, search for "Bentley" and read the threads that come up. Especially the baiting type threads that tr1 made. It is absolutely hilarious to see so many people who were so ****ing wrong. HILARIOUS. tr1 was 1000 percent wrong about everything he wrote. I would say 100 but that is not high enough. I have softened in my old age and kind of let bygones be bygones from this past offseason.
Going back in time and reading a few threads really brightened my day. I was thisclose to bumping all of them back to the top for everyone's enjoyment.

So I was wrong about the Eagles being to cheap to get Bentley? Didn't he end up with the Browns?
Oh, yeah, I'm always 100% wrong.
I was wrong about TO wrecking Philly, wrong about McNabb's injury, wrong about Stallworth, wrong about Pinkston, wrong about Bunkley not starting this year, etc....
Shall I continue?

Read the threads! They are great. Man, I haven't had that much fun in a long long time. I love seeing you reaching out, trying to find a tree branch, and then falling right on your face. The only thing funnier is watching you do it again and again and again.

I suspect we'll be healthier by then.
If you're so confident of a win at FedEX, why don't you predict the score right now?
Healthier? Maybe.
Playing for "pride" by that point? Definitely.

The Browns gave Bentley an outrageous contract for a center. Also, Bentley stated from the very beginning that he was a lifelong Browns fan (grew up in Ohio, played at Ohio State) and would pretty much play for the Browns if they gave him a decent offer since he wanted to play back home. The Browns wound up giving him a much bigger offer than even he expected and Philly stood no shot, despite reportedly offering him quite a bit of money.
Of course coming from one of Daniel Snyder's obsequious lapdogs, one can't expect you to understand the concept that just because your team doesn't greatly overpay for a FA, doesn't mean they are cheap either.

Last year was the first year the injury bug hit the Eagles in five years...and it wasn't McNabb you missed the most, it was Westbrook.
I still think the Eagles are one bad sprain away from being very mediocre.
I guess that's why McNabb basically beat Green Bay this year by himself? I mean according to your logic, a man who went to 4 straight NFC Title games, 2 of which were seasons in which Westbrook was either still a Wildcat or a rookie, and one season when we went on the IR doesn't account for anything huh?

Those old threads are hilarious. You've got to give tr1 some credit for having the balls to make predictions and throw his opinions out there. That being said, I don't think the guy has ever been right in his life. You would think just with the law of averages he would get one sooner or later.

Revisionist history. So Bentley had no $ amount that would have landed him in Philly.

You haven't been here long enough...TO...Eagles last year being losers...ask my Philly pals.
That's why WB has such a grudge...I was right, and he was wrong.
So, are pukes gonna win?

Yes. Cowboys win. It's going to be a tough game, very tough... but the Boys will win.
Bledsoe is a different QB at home. (I guess he must enjoy all of the boos.) Plus the Giants' pass rush comes mainly off the edge and that's not how you beat Drew. You've got to get rushers up the middle and in his face and the Giants don't blitz well enough to get that done. Drew won't lose us the game like he did in Philly and Jax.
The D will limit Tiki and Eli doesn't scare me at all. My prediction:
Dallas - 23
Giants - 16

Why do I need to predict a score? See my team already beat yours. All season we heard about how Wash would sweep Dallas' I believe you were in the sweep camp as well. Face facts tr1 your team isnt very good right now. Use any reasons you want but the facts remain the same. How will the Skins do in indy this sunday?

According to Bentley, no. There's nothing revisionist about it. He stated on Sirius radio before FA went up that he wanted out of New Orleans and wanted to play for the Browns.
And like I pointed out, he signed an obscene contract for a center. So for Philly to get him instead (and they offered him some good $$$ as well), he would've gotten an out of this world type of contract.
Just because Philly didn't want to sign him to some preposterous contract, doesn't make them cheap.

True dat...Eli caught a couple of breaks in that game...there were at least two balls that could have been picked...but the Giants missed a couple of INT opportunities, too, so it balances out.
The Cowgirls just plain got beat in every aspect of the game.
