:applause: What a steal. Hopefully he is in DC for a lot longer this his grossly underpaid one year contract. I trust that if Ernie likes what he sees, Stevenson will be here a while.

Yep, definitely a great signing by EG. Stevenson holds a player option for the 2nd year, so if he continues to like his stay in DC (which I think he will), maybe he'll excercise the option? :fingersx:

I mean he's definitely worth more than the contract he received, but maybe, just maybe, he'll stay with us for another year under this contract, or just negotiate a long-term deal with us, which would be sweet. :applause:

Nice little slam by Gil.....
"Last year, Jared was our defensive specialist," Arenas said. "Now we have one that can put points on the board."......... .... :D

Hopefully EG does the same thing he did with Butler. He recognized the players talents within his organization early and locked him up. If he was going to sign for 3m a year, then maybe we can make him a offer around 4-4.5 million a year. I have a great feeling about the guy. He is going to have favorable matchups all year because people will stick their best 3 on the big 3. He also will guard teams best players--effectively(thats a knock on you Jeffries).

I love how the locker room is all cool.. just like the Redskins locker room.. Everyone is cool with eachother.. You usually don't hear about that in pro sports.

Well put. We need to lock this guy up now long term for cheap anytime the SG battle was over after the first day of training camp. It looks like now we have a big 4 and depth.

"It feels like I've been on the Wizards three, four years," Stevenson said on Saturday. "I thought it was going to be a big adjustment, coming to a new team. I'm just one of those lucky guys to be in a situation where I felt comfortable right off the bat.
You gotta love statements like this. Chemistry will always be key and it looks like the new wiz are gellin' like magellan

I saw chemistry between Gil and Deshawn in the first TC video I saw, even there I just saw them moving together Like Larry and Gil used to.

Hopefully they can bring back the Bait and Switch that led to so many steals.

Deshawn Averaged 11 points a game with the opposing teams best defender on him.

I just can't see an opposing team leaving Gilbert or Caron with a weaker defender on a switch (which never happened with JJ)

I think Deshawn will have a scrawny PG guarding him a lot, because usually the more athletic 2 guard will guard Gilbert, unless it is a really good PG.

Like when we play the Cavs. Go ahead, put Eric Snow on Gilbert, put him on Deshawn. Either way he's gonna get dunked on.

If this dude turns into Larry at about 1/15th of his salary, Ernie Grunfeld should be enshrined in the basketball hall. Yep.

I can't believe I'm already looking fwd to B-Ball season. Oh well, Wizards should be nice this year. Gonna put 100 spot on them to win it all. Vegas odds are at 125:1

I just know that DS is going to have a really good season, possibly one so good that he may get a contract above the MLE if he is allowed on the open market. We should resign him to a 4 mil per contract.
