View Full Version : Remember Jesse Lumsden?

He missed his CFL team's final game of the season due to injury....a problem that undoubtedly led to his release from Washington.

But, does anyone who saw the guy in camp think he'd be able to help this team move the ball right now (if healthy)? When I watched Portis' 34 yard run today I couldn't help but say to myself "if that was Lumsden he'd be in the end zone" just because of his straight ahead speed. Please note I am not tryin to say he's better, that just popped into me head when I was watching today.

So let me see...

Portis would then get 8 carries

Betts would get 6 carries

Lumsden would get 3 carries

Duckett would get the same amount of carries

ARE would get 2 carries

Are we at 20 total carries in a game yet?

Nope, well we need another Back. Maybe we could get close to 30 total carries a game.

UpNorth, how ya been? It's great to hear from you.

The answer is no, by the way. I like Jesse but think T.J. Duckett is more valuable.

lumsden can only dream about warming that bench half as well as duckett.

We have FIVE fullbacks and ZERO healthy cornerbacks.

Yes please-let's sign him to a multimillion dollar 6 year contract

He runs more like Cooley than Portis  The guy would be a lot easier to root for if everyone from Canada would stop thinking he is Herschel Walker and letting everybody know how they feel every 2 minutes.

it is sad that jesse lumsden even was in your thoughts today.............shows how sad of a state the skins are in!!

for the record, i doubt he would have made it in the endzone over CP26

Duckett needs more carries....but Portis avewrages over 4 yards per carry so there should be no dissatisfaction with him.

And I have been fine, especially considering that my Jets have fought to a 4-3 start and looking to be 5-3 after Sunday.

That's fine. It would have been close though.

By the way, I haven't watched every game Washington has played this season, but I know Brandon Lloyd has barely contributed and Brunell has not been good. Why is he still starting? Being in the strongest division doesn't help....but considering all the preseason hype, this is really bad.

You are Jesse Lumsden aren't you? I'm sorry you got cut dude but no, if CP didn't get in YOU would not get in either. You do not have more "Straight Ahead Speed" than Clinton Portis. Are you kidding? ha ha ha

When Jesse runs he leans back like a sprinter. Sean Taylor could spit and knock him over.

QUITE QUITE....(I CAN'T EMPHASIZE THIS ENOUGH)... PATHETIC!!!!

That guy was a bum that so many fell in love with for whatever reason. He is not NFL talent and never will be.

Let me guess why you're saying this; because he's Canadian, right? You guys seriously have to understand Lumsden is just not NFL material, plain and simple. Give it a rest for christ's sakes.
