Make an offer...they retail with nothing on em for 349.

I sell them for 450 on Ebay, but would lower it for a Skins fan.

I wouldn't want to take away from the record labels  .

**** that - artists make more on merchandise, I asked Smile Empty Soul the other night if they cared, YES, I ASKED them, and they didn't. They actually like it because it gets their music out.

Do you realise that in the state of Florida, where your profile says you are from, that you are committing Grand Theft in the 3rd Degree (a 3rd Degree Felony)?

No I didn't. Could you cut and paste that information though?

" Florida has combined the crimes of larceny, embezzlement, false pretenses and receiving stolen property into the category of theft. A person commits theft when he or she knowingly obtains or uses the property of another with intent to either temporarily or permanently deprive the other person of the property. Theft of property valued at $100,000 or more is grand theft in the first degree and a first degree felony. Theft of property valued at $20,000-100,000 is grand theft in the second degree and a second degree felony. Theft of property valued at $300-20,000 is grand theft in the third degree and a third degree felony. Theft of any other property is petit theft and a second degree misdemeanor. (The category of larceny, the taking of property without consent and with intent to steal, is still used for reporting purposes.)"

You simply do not have the copyrights to sell all of the music, movies, and videos you're using to sell that Ipod as "ultimate."

Is $75 a unit really worth the risk? Can you really justify that *you* deserve that profit over the hundreds of hard working artists and organizations who created that property?

One day musicians will realize that their record sales suck because A. They suck. Or B. Someone is trying to sell their CD's for $16. Those are the two main reasons for slumping record sales, not pirated music. Everyone I know previews the CD by pirating. Then IF IT IS GOOD, buys the CD for the ludicrous price the retailer charged, mastered by the artist's producer so they can have a copy without glitches, volume spikes, etc. Pirating is a FREE commercial for the artist.

I absolutely agree with that.

I have found A LOT of bands, and bought many more CDs that I wouldn't give a damn about if I hadn't downloaded a few songs and heard them.

This is not a discussion about whether or not CD's are overpriced (I agree) or whether some bands release crappy music (they surely do.)

It's a discussion of copyright violation and whether or not *everyone* has the right to take someone else's intellectual property and profit from it without due compensation.

And to call this a "Free commercial for the artists" simply isn't true. This particular seller is making a personal profit.

I'm glad to hear that after you steal someone's music or movies that you are one of the few people that then go out and pay for all the stuff you like. Maybe one day everyone else in the world will live up to this very high-minded code of conduct you've adopted. But lets be real here, most people simply will not.

Bottom line: This is a good deal if buying (or selling) stolen merchandise is cool with you.

If CD's were 5$, I would buy them. Otherwise, I only buy cd's for my one favorite band, and if I see any for really cheap (around 5-8$). Sure, you could say "fine, buy one at 15$" but to me, it's just that I don't wanna spend 15$ on just one item where I may skip through half the tracks, but 15$ on 3 items yields me more benefit.

Solution, if stores charged 5$ for cd's, more people would buy them. Seriously, I challenge any store that has a decent variety of cd's (Tower, FYE, even Circuit City and Best Buy) to have a sale, 5$ cd's, see how many people flock.

People are buying movies pretty fast now cause usually after a year of their retail release, they fall into the 5-10$ range, and more people by them. Whenever I visit Circuit City, I end up buying a movie or two just because they are cheap. Same with Wal-Mart. Buying for the sake of buying basically.

It is one thing to download songs and music for your own use, which is still stealing, but to turn around and sell the stolen property on the internet is crazy. Can't wait to see you on a stupid criminals show.
