I have been a Redskins fan for over 30 years, I was a fan before you came, after you left, and rejoiced at the news of your return. I was fully behind this team even in Norv Turners first 3 horrible years because at least the Redskins were making progress every year. I have never seen a more disappointing team in the entire thirty plus years as a skins fan it is top to bottom pathetic offense a defense who’s nickname should be the turnstiles, terrible kicking game, to extremely undisciplined players. There is no difference in this team than the two teams Steve Spurrier put together with the exception of a lot of additional high priced talent. This is not acceptable; this is not measuring up to the standards you yourself set.
Coach I know how loyal you are, I appreciate it because as a society I think all too often loyalty is the first thing to go but there is also being loyal to a fault. Mark Brunell is trying his best out there but unfortunately he just doesn’t have the tools anymore. I know the main reason why the team throws so many screens and check down passes is because Mark can not get the ball downfield with consistent accuracy. Mark is in decline that is a fact! His skills are only going to diminish further, the ultimate goal is to win a championship and Mark Brunell is not going to be the guy to take us there. Continuing to play Mark is to continue to fail to face reality! Put Jason Campbell in, he cannot do any worse than Mark and the expanded range of throws he can make might just open things up again. Sure he is going to make some mistakes, even veterans make mistakes, Mark has made some bad ones this year.
If Campbell is not the guy who can lead this team lets find out now while we have nothing to loose. Coach please take some time and take a long unbiased look at Brunell, he has not been very good for 85% of the time he has been here, sure he has had a FEW good games wrapped around a BUNCH of below average to downright horrible. Something has to be done because for the first time in thirty plus years as a fan I can’t even watch them on TV.
