Pitching I think is the most important need for us.

1 SP, Lf, 1b, 2 bp arms

One solid starter would help, and a power bat would solidify the middle of the lineup.

haha, I think you would be jumping up on the ground when he actually dies.

Our biggest need is pitching. If we can get one solid pitcher, our rotation is solid. Finding a new 1b is another need for this team.

Yea dominant starting pitching would be wonderful but we wont get it (next year) cause its too expensive on the FA market and we have Loewen/Penn/Johnson and even Erbe and Liz in the wings so lets say 2008 we have a roto of

Cabrera
Benson
Loewen
Penn
Johnson.

I think that Wright will be a huge flop and waste of a roster spot.

So that takes us to the bullpen. gotta just find some live left arms and hope to god that leo can teach em to find the strikezone

Other than that our utter lack of POWER in the lineup is a big weakness and only Class A stud Nolan Reimold projects to bring it....Miggy is droppin off the power production and Markakis might be good for 25-maybe even 30?

Do you not expect us to still have Bedard?

I would think that we would lock him up next year for a while at a lower price before he takes off, I see the rotation more like

Bedard
Loewen
Penn
Benson
Cabrera

and Johnson possibly pushing out either Cabrera or Benson...

Wright may not ever touch the field in an Orioles uniform, I fully expect us to trade him before the spring, but then maybe we won't because I would think of that as a smart move.... maybe he will be trying to resurect his career here, it has worked for others, maybe it will work here, or maybe I am just fooling myself....

Good point, thats what I get for trolling the boards when I'm studying....I agree with your rotation. Though do you really expect angelos to free the money up to sign bedard long term? I dont even think he's eligible for arbitration yet, though I could be wrong. That'd be nice cause itd give us a few more years for angelos to take a dirt nap :silly:

on the johnson post. Yea he only got a brief cup of coffee, and got lit up like a menorah, but, hes young, like 23, with a solid average fastball, and two solid secondary pitches that have been rated as plus... hes a big kid too, definatley a solid back of the rotation pitcher that will save us some money, I mean look how much guys like Suppan are commanding, hell even Moose got 23 mil/2 yrs and hes on the very bottom of the downside slope of his career!
