Giants | Strahan out of action
Mon, 6 Nov 2006 08:53:57 -0800

Jay Glazer (http://www.kffl.com/link/14), of FOXSports.com (http://www.kffl.com/link/189), reports New York Giants (http://www.kffl.com/team/26/nfl) DE Michael Strahan (http://www.kffl.com/player/1275/nfl) (foot) will be on crutches for at least the next week after he sprained ligaments in his right foot. Doctors to him the injury will take anywhere from two to eight weeks to recover from. He said it's similar to the injury he suffered his rookie year that kept him out several weeks. He has been told to remain off of his foot for at least the next week and then he will be examined again.

Wow, this sucks. The Kiwanuka pick just looks better and better as weeks go by. Last year it was the LBs, this year, the DEs.

Injuries suck! I hope Stra gets better soon. He's one of the few players I respect in the NFCE. He's a tough guy, but knowing Coughlin he'll sit him an extra week or so to get Kiwa some snaps. Strahan will probably be back in two weeks....

That sucks. Hope he gets well sooner rather than later. What's going on with Osi?

That's a shame.

If there's a silver lining, you guys have a bit of a cushion in the division and some depth there. I hope he heals up and gets back soon...I just hope he doesn't do too well in week 17!

Good thing that the Giants drafted a third DE.

WOW.....I thought he was fine yesterday after they said x-rays were negative. Man, that sucks, I hate when injuries happen to anyone, let alone a player like Strahan. Hope he gets well soon.....

He has a hip flexor.

Good thing that the Giants drafted a third DE.

Kiwanuka is the fourth. Justin Tuick was drafted in '05.

My thoughts exactly. I'm hoping that its closer to 2. The good news is I just read that Osi Umenyiora and Justin Tuck (foot) are expected to play vs. the Bears. Here's hoping.

well, they just reported on the ESPN bottom line that it is 2-4, not 2-8... so a little bit of good news

This is exactly why the Giants will not make the playoffs. They are just too soft to play in the NFL and survive until the end.

...and they are a team that can't play to their capabilities without their star players.

Giants boat is sinking.

Are you sure you are 21 and not 12? You know you are not allowed to reverse the numbers, right?

I don't think this will too bad of a injury for the G-Men. They've got tremendous depth at that position. Kiwi impressed me in the game against the Bucs. Not sure about the Texan game.

TM,

Only if Osi U. is able to come back soon. But he may be out another week or two.

LOL

Yep... one of the toughest schedules in the league and they're 6-2... such a soft team.

5 game winning streak and holding opponents to 52 pts during that stretch.

Yep, complete indication of how soft they are.

Shame about Strahan. I'm glad we got Kiwi in the draft. I'll be attentive to any word this week about Osi's and Tuck's condition for the next game.

With Kiwi and Tuck the Giants are okay, but they really will be relying Osi for pressure! And they will need to pressure. Money is on him being fine for the game.

I sure am hopeful Urlacher will be able to play this weekend :fingersx: He is a difference maker just like Strahan for the Giants.
