Well, I may be a Michigan fan - but I'm from Jersey, so Rutgers definitely has a soft spot in my heart. Tonight is the biggest game in the history of the school. They have been come the ultimate Cinderella story this year.

C'mon Scarlet Knights!!

I'll definitely be watching. Ive only seen Rutgers play once so far, but i must say the Shiano has done a remarkable job and SHOULD get coach of the year honors.

That being said, i just dont think they have the horses to win, unless Louisville comes out flat after last weeks win.

Spread is 6.5 FYI.

TEG, why are you rooting for Louisville? WVU needs Rutgers to win to have any shot at the BE Title. Or is it because you know the Big East and WVU are pretty much laughingstocks if Louisville loses?

Just curious.

Yeah, because having 3 great teams instead of two would just SUCK... lol

My guess is that he's operating under the "they beat us, so them going on to the national championship makes us look better" theory, which presumes that it's national title or bust for WVU.

I completely empathize with that position, but I would rather see us get the BE Title and go on to the BCS. It's a close call either way.

They have been come the ultimate Cinderella story this year.

Who's the bigger cinderella...Rutgers or Wake Forest? Wake has always played teams tough...love the role of the giant killer, but more often than not would come out just short. They would have bad records, but I always believed them to be better than they were. Rutgers on the other hand. I didn't see this coming. I know Leonard is good, and Rice is good. But I find it much harder to shake the notion of Rutgers as a Big East doormat than Wake Forest as an ACC doormat.

So, my vote goes to Rutgers as The Cinderella this year, but curious as to everyone else's.

Spoken by a fan of a team that has 2 losses in the 6th ranked conference, according to BCS rankings.

I'll root for U Lou because they will not lose 2x in conference -which is what WVU needs to become conference champs - for the 4th straight year.

I'll root for U Lou because I respect them as an up and coming program rather than a one year wonder (like Rutgers).

I'll root for U Lou because they beat WVU on the field...something that I don't think Rutgers can do.

I'll root for U Lou because with their offensive skill, I think they can challenge the better defenses in the country. And with the proper execution, can outscore the Michigan and Florida's of the world, something that I do not think Rutgers can do.

I thought that with WVU losing to LU, and if LU loses to Rutgers, and Rutgers loses to WVU...you get yourself a 3 way tie which is broken by BCS ranking which would be WVU on top in this scenario. Is that correct?

If it is, then WVU fans better root for Rutgers if they want to be Big East champs.

Hmmm...good point. I hadn't thought of that...although I wonder if the U Lou loss would hurt WVU more, BCS rankings wise.

I still think BSU will lose a game and ND won't finish in the top 8 BCS - opening up 2 spots for the BCS at large teams...one of which I think WVU would be considered for, should they win out and finish 11-1.

Damn that roughing the punter call.

It was the right call, but they should have blocked the kick. They block it and the Knights are most likely only down 4 (maybe 3) at half time. Oh well, I think they can make it up in the second half - the D HAS to step up though.

I've never seen Rutgers play before, their defense is nasty all the stunts and twists at the line.

Rice looks like the real deal..I'm really impressed by this.

Yeah, until the last game of the season, WVU vs Rutgers in Morgantown.

WHAT A FREAKING GAME! :cardsuck:

Well with the Louisville loss, WVU gets right back in it in terms of grabbing that Big East bid. Of course, they have to win out which seems like a good possiblity. They do get Rutgers at home for that last game after all.

Before this season, Rutgers hadn't even been ranked since 1988.

What a win for that program. I like the fans rushing the field early.

Great WIN for Rutgers!!!! It will be tough for them to win Dec. 2nd in Morgantown.

But I hope they do. Maybe Rutgers should consult the last visiting team to win in Morgantown and get some tips on how to win in that place.

GO HOKIES!!!!!!!

Exactly. Didn't think I'd have to spell it out for the Eer fans, whom, ironically, criticize my knowledge of college football.

The only thing that will make me laugh harder than Rutgers winning the Big East BCS bid is a three-way cluster**** which includes........uh........Rutgers???

Maybe Tranghese can recruit James Madison, William and Mary, ECU, and Southwest Missouri State so he can hold that coveted conference championship. What's that, a three-way tie twice in three years?

Regardless, so much for the Louisville-OSU matchup. Maybe the Big East ain't all it's cracked up to be. Who knew? Oh wait, everybody did. My bad.

Congrats to Rutgers though. Awesome win.

As opposed to having a league currently being led by Wake Forest and Maryland?

Or if you want to use earlier logic, the team tied for first in the atlantic division of the acc got destroyed by a team that lost to Louisville, who lost to Rutgers.

This is really not the best year for you to be complaining about the strength of other conferences... lol

So if WVU beats Rutgers, and Rutgers, WVU and Louisville all finish with one loss, how is the Big East winner determined?

I believe it is determined by whoever has the highest BCS ranking when the final BCS rankings come out after the season ends.

Regardless, the fact remains that ALL 3 of the teams with a shot to win the Big East, including Rutgers, are better than ANY of the 3 teams with a shot to win the ACC.

So make fun of Rutgers all you want, but they are playing better football than anyone in the ACC.
