Game's not over yet but I think it's pretty obvious the Eagles are going to be victorioues today.

So are they "back?" Or did they simply just do what they were supposed to and beat a bad team at home?

I can't believe you even have to ask this question.

If I'm a Philadelphia fan riding home from the Linc today the only thing I'm happy about is that this one is (will probably be, anyway) in the win column. Its more like a non-loss.

ATN should be a non-gloat zone today. I don't even think Westy should accept the win on the sig bet from tr1 and bubba.

Honestly in my opinion, it is half and half like you said, but even that, the Redskins, I believe are still more excited over thier win last weekend with Dallas, that they werent worried about this game at all. I think that on the By week, that Gibbs didnt do much towards the practice skills on Brunell, because Brunell didnt want to practice. Seems to me that Campbell practiced more than Brunell. I think Gibbs, needs to step in, and take Brunell out. Then we have Portis on the other hand. He is always out for injury. Why not just take a full week, and "heal properly" But no, he has to play to prove himself to the team, but gets placed out anyways. I don't feel sorry at all for the Redskins losing, I congradulate the Eagles for their about to win game. Because the Redskins arent becoming strong as a team. They def. need more practice, and Brunell needs a Nerf Ball!

I said in another thread that I had a bad feeling today. However, like I have commented in other threads when fans of other teams make comments. The Eagles are done. I am wondering if they will make the playoffs. The skins won't, but does it matter if the Birds don't either.

They have shown me very little. Only thing is...I don't see anyone else in the division playing great ball the 2nd half of the yr either. Dallas is a model of inconsistency -- NYG are absolutely decimated by injuries (w/a brutal schedule too) and we -- well, I think it is obvious what we are.

Having said this -- no, the eagles did not really impress me today but, yes....they have a chance in this division.

I don't think so. The Redskins just suck more. Doesn't mean I won't enjoy this. :)

Why not? :whoknows:

heck, he could have even spotted bubba the 10 pts and won. You can bet bubba and tr1 would have held westy to it if the outcome was different..

Yes, we are back... from bye week... However, I do believe that we STILL have a LOT to work on.

Penalties are the glairing obvious thing, however, If week keep playing the way we played in the last drive of the gmae, we should be alright.

Eagles aren't back. Too inconsistant to beat really good teams. They have the potential, however, to be very good and very dangerous.

It's their choice as to whether they make that leap.

I like our chances much better with Morningwhig calling plays.

The Eagles are a solid, but flawed, team that feature the talents of the finest QB in the NFL. They are capable of giving any team trouble. Please sweep Dallas.

Maybe, who knows. They'll make the playoffs though.

They got more to prove yet. Yesterday was an important stepping stone.

Losing yesterday would have meant the end of the season. No way they could lose when they were given every reason to win, given their situation they made for themselves in the previous few weeks. Division title is still up for grabs.

Truth.

BTW, nice prediction. I had the Eagles 27 right anyway.

I agree. Removing one step in the communication process will hopefully save a time out or two and hopefully help in 2 minute drills.

That being said, I was extremely disappointed with the 5 minutes before the half. Philly should have snuffed out any hope the skins had and they just seemed listless and unimaginative. And, I can't remember the last time the Eagles passed to their TEs less. LJ's too good not to use him more, unless skins were going out of their way to take him out of the game. Seems to me that once that deep pass went for 6, the short middle would open up a bit.

Oh, and one more thing: Does AR know that Westbrook is not extremely durable, and that running him in the 4th quarter junk time is excessive wear & tear??? Moats, Tapeh, Buck, Mahe, or even better - hand off to Cole. :)

As to Eagles being back - I can't imagine there are too many Eagles fans that are "ecstatic" with how their Offense played yesterday. Defense played well at times, Special teams was much improved, and offense peformed when needed. Amazingly we're only 1 game behind the Giants right now, who are going to have a horrible time finishing the season with the injuries they've endured. That upcoming game in the Meadowlands could be huge. Eagles have to win 2 of those road divisional games, with one of them coming against the Giants in order to have a chance at winning the division.

Man, running into the punt returner, 62-yard field goal and botched fumble covering are all that separate them from 5-4 and 8-1. Incredible. Of course we finally got a bounce our way when Buck did his best Franco Harris impression.

Yeah they were crazy plays, but the bottom line is those plays never should have mattered. The eagles should have put the game out of hand against all of those teams. It was their lack of effort and will that allowed them to get beat at the line of scrimmage. To not respond when they are facing adversity. Things like recovering Reggies fumble is the product of using good hustle. Buck didn't give up on the play, just because the ball wasn't in his hands. He came down to make a block, and wound up doing something far greater. The goods teams having 'balls bounce their way' more often then not appear that way because they don't give up on plays.
