As much as I hate to say it, Dallas is poised to make the playoffs this year, and has a very strong shot at the Super Bowl next year. All the pieces are in place, and they are young at most positions.

Panthers defense is no slouch.

The Redskins played as well last week as they have all season and he still torched us more then Bledsoe ever had in 3 games against us.

I think Romo will collapse in the playoffs...learn from his mistakes and become a serious force next year.

I'm mad, I don't think he is better than Brett Farve or Brady. He is good, but you guys aren't a superbowl team, not even close....Your RB isn't that good, so if it is cold or rainy, I doubt you guys can rely on the run. O-line is coming off 3 good games, but Our o-line was like that against Houston and Jaxsonville. Your corners are average at best. Your FS sucks and Roy can't cover at all, but he is a better safety than Taylor. Your TE position doesn't have solid blocking TE. The only thing you guys that is good is your front 7. WRneed to catch the ball more and become a consistent. He will be good, but god WeOwnYou, Romo is the most popular QB in the league so stop talking about how he doesn't have any respect.

Woah now, we know he is isn't Favre or Brady. But, I mean who is?

We may not be a Super Bowl team right now. But the peices are all in tact. We are rather Young at every Position. Minus O-Line. You see Hurd, Crayton? Amazing. Will fill in fine when Owens and Glenn ride off into the sunset.

Why can't we rely on our Run game? Last time I checked, Julius was 6th in the NFL in Rushing Yards. Barber tied for 4th in TDs. (Only 1 behind Portis, I must add) So why couldn't we run the ball? Having a Good QB Cures our O-Line woes. Night and Day better without the 8 Man Boxes.

They have done well against Carolina, Washington & Arizona. Not bad at all. 2 of the 3 Considered Playoff Teams at begining of the year, Zona' was a possible Wild Card squad.

Watkins did pretty well today. Got his 1st Career NFL Pick. You don't leave him one on one against Plax or Reggie Brown, he will be fine.

TE Can't block? Doesn't really matter, when the Slowest TE In the NFL is Waffle Housing it. AKA Always Open!

This team is a few pieces away from being Very good to Very great. For a very long time.

Romo has looked great and there's no denying it. The guy was 2-1 in his first three starts ON THE ROAD. He was a blocked field goal from being 3-0. As much as it pains me to say, I think what he has done thus far is pretty amazing. At least Parcells had the balls to see what the kid can do and it is paying great dividends.

If any of you watch any sports shows, they are always treating him with the popularity of Brady or Farve. I know he isn't a good QB. But newman, remember that your on a REDSKINS FORUM, so don't expect us to give respect. I alreay said he is better than I thought he was, I don't want to admit it, but he is. I want him play a good defensive team before we talk. Look at him against the giants.....

NEwman, plz..They predicated Miami to go to the playoffs. I will admit that the redskins were so overhyped. We had a back like Travis HEnry run up us. I don't think jones had a great game against us. Averaged 3.9 yards per carry against our horrible run d. Every QB could pass against us, so it isn't hard to have a good game against the skins.

Remember, My team got embarrashed against the iggles, so I'm not a very happy kid. I told you in a PM that he is the real deal, but I don't think he is even a top 10 Qb in the league.

I'll give WeOwnU credit. I have heard him say he's liked Romo for a while. He was high on him during the preseason and said he liked what he saw in previous years.

I absolutely did. Thanks warhead for remembering. I've watched him in the preseason for 4 years, and he has been nothing short of amazing. I've been wanting Parcells to put him in last year. Just something about the kid. Plays great, AND looking at him, he's having fun out there. He's all smiles.

Well we all had some speculation as to "what" he could do. Parcells has been hyping him up for a few years. I beleive one of the announcers mentioned something about him saying he was going to be good a few years ago.

Good? Yes.

This good? No.

But honestly, I think if he was a bit "above average" as a Cowboy fan, we'd still be stoked. We've had 9 QB's since Aikman. Not one of them worth a darn.

We all thought, Henson was the future. Not Romo. Look where Henson ended up. :D

I heard that he outperformed Bledsoe in the 2005 TC but he never really hit my radar until the 2006 TC as a having true potential. When BP started him and played him our entire first preseason game, I knew he might be good. When Babe Laufenburg kept endorsing him and as the preseason went on I thought he could be special and the best fit for the team. He's exactly what we needed and he's far exceeded my expectations.

Got to get a better pass rush first. Until they get pretty good at sacking the QB, they won't make the Super Bowl next season.

Where Romo helps is that he avoids sacks, is great on 3rd down, and has cut down the turnovers. Dallas is currently +4 in turnover margin for the year and +7 since Romo has started. Can't recall the last time Dallas had a positive turnover margin this late into the season.

He looked good in the 2005 preseason.

It's hard for me to take the Dallas media with a grain of salt because they are so speculative and love to stir up nonsense. But in 2003 (his rookie year) they claimed that a couple of members on the Dallas coaching staff wanted Romo to start the first preseason game because they thought he was better than either Quincy or Hutchinson.

I was a bit leery on his arm strength and height. Seemed to struggle on the deep fade and finding passing lanes. But he's had no problem with those issues so far this season.

Bill Parcells made the right decision at the right time. He took the gamble and it's paying off big time. DallASS is still in the hunt for the division and the Redskins have sunk to the bottom of the division.
It looks like Joe Gibbs got outmaneuvered by Bill Parcells. Joe finally made the change, only a few weeks too late, which doesn't help our cause.
What's really going to upset me is if JC lights it up and gets this team enough wins to vie for a Wild Card and we end up being eliminated by one game. Being a realist though, tells me that we'll be lucky to get 8 wins this year.

The only counter I have against Romo is that he hasn't played a good defense yet. You can argue that the Panthers are good, but statistically, they rank in the bottom third, plus they had no film on him at all. The Redskins and Cardinals are dreadful. Both in the bottom 5 in the league.

Romo looks terrific, but let's wait until he faces a superior defense to anoint him the second coming of Troy Aikman.

Nobody is annointing him to anything except an impressive start. You're still missing the point. It's the poise, accuracy and leadership moreso than the opponents at this point. The second half verses the Giants and three straight road games is very tough.

From Dallas fort-worth Star Telegram:

Fear factor
Despite solid performances in his first three career starts, quarterback Tony Romo still scares Bill Parcells. Such as the fake spike to kill the clock near the goal line before halftime when Romo was nearly intercepted in the end zone.

"Some of the things he does will eventually jump up and bite you," Parcells said.

And what did Parcells tell Romo after the fake spike?

"Dumb players do dumb things," he said.

Even if you are the biggest Cowboys hater, you've gotta love Emmitt Smith as an NFL player. He wasn't the strongest, quickest, fastest, or most elusive back to play in the NFL. What he did have was a health dose of all of those traits and it created the NFL all-time leading rusher.
