He can't throw with accuracy
He makes stupid decisions
He is average

While Philip Rivers is slowly becoming a STAR!

It must suck to be a Giants fan right now.

Payed the farm to get a QB who can't throw accurately 5 yards downfield. No wonder why Plaxico and Jeremiah are pissed off everytime.

When is it the right time to label him a 1st pick bust? I don't see him with the Giants after his rookie contract is played out.

Don't get mad because your team hasn't beaten Eli in two years.

eli didn't play last year at fedex? or the year before at fedex?

Yeah, I was at that game. Christmas Eve at FedEx. One offensive touchdown on a tipped pass at the end of the first half. A drive helped out by a personal foul penalty on Ryan Clark when he laid out Tim Carter. Yeah, I remember that win. :)

alright, now that's settled, put a sock in it, NY1.

eli and peyton are like arnold and danny in "twins."

peyton is like arnold, he's the perfect QB. Eli is the crap left over.

So what are you talking about?

I would rather have him than Super Smart. Then again I would rather see Campbell play. At least your teams have a starter that is the best QB you got...

It's funny that the last time Eli saw your team he completed his last 13 passes of the game and threw the game winning TD in overtime.

I love that you never let reality get in the way of making your point.

The last TD was his worst pass of the day. He was lucky to have a super smart WR with height who made a great play.

Eli will top out at the Delhomme level, if that. He will never be a star.

not this year if the injuries keep piling up on them.

Then, next year without tiki.... ouch.

*sigh* my team sucks, so the only thing i have to look forward to is seeing rivals fail.

Unfortunately, the jury is still out on Romo. Have to wait until next year to see just how good he is. If he continues to progress he could be good, but time will tell.

On Eli, the Giants will only go as far as Eli takes them. It is obvious he is not as good as his brother, but he can get hot at times. However, Rivers is outplaying him this year.

In the last year and a half

3 games:

Giants 3
Eagles 0

Thats all i care about. Go brag about mcnabb's stats for all i care, i'd rather see my team win than see Eli look like peyton in a losing effort. Keep laughing off those losses, i guess you have to in philly. Every glimmer of a superbowl win comes with a huge choke job.

What has Eli started? 30 games? Yup, you can definitely tell how good he is going to be for the rest of his career.

It will take him a couple of games to adjust being without Toomer. And he has these games once in a while where he has overthrows. I am sure he is going to work hard at getting better and eliminating them.

I for one am very happy to have Eli as the starting QB for the Giants. He may have shown a tendency to overthrow WR's but he has shown signs of being a very good QB.

I like to look at the whole picture. Not just what is convenient for me to make a dumb point that has no merit. But that is me, to each his own.

I think some people are awfully hard on Eli because he's not Peyton yet. Tough sell. Peyton may go down as the best QB ever. He's THAT good.

Eli will be a solid to great QB for 10+ years. HOF-er? I don't know, maybe. But I'd kill to have Manning QB my team.

Biggest problem I have with Eli (besides the fact that he plays with the Gnats) is his refusal to play for the Chargers. Maybe his dad pushed him, whatever, that was/is pathetic. I hate players that do that. However, can't compare Rivers to him, because I think overall the Chargers are a much better team. Better defense, better OL, better running back. Only area Giants are better is at wide receiver position, and even that's questionable now, with Toomer gone.

He is still young, and should the Giants go belly up this season (hopefully), he'll get a pass due to injuries, rightfully so.

Like Tom said, it's way too early to judge what kind of QB Goober will turn out to be. For now though, Tiki is MVP of that team, by a mile.

Anyone who says Eli isn't a good QB with a good chance of becoming a great QB is an idiot. It's just his 3rd season, he's still young and already putting up great numbers. Sure there are going to be ups and downs but that's what you expect with a young QB.

I would trade our entire defense for Peyton. We don't use it anyways.

I agree that Eli is still young and still has some developing to do. However, great he will never be.

Well said. The worst thing going against eli is that he's peyton's brother. Take that out of the mix, and he's doing pretty damn good.

Prior to Romo starting, there isn't a skin or cowboys fan that would take him on thier team in a second.

Personally though, I think Tiki makes that whole offense run. If he truly does retire, I will be very interested to see eli play then. Talk all you want about brandon jacobs, he's no tiki. Tiki is top 2 or 3 rb's in the game. Gets better with time too.

Eli is okay and has potential. It is true his biggest problem is his big brother and the associated comparisons and expectations. The abundance of injuries will give him a bye for this season, but must come back and prove himself next season. If he somewhat fails, he'll be treated like the red-headed step child by the mediots.

The Chargers and Steelers were the beneficiaries of Ernie Accorsi's idiocy. If Eli had no brother, no way the Giants draft him. Elway pulled the same BS as Eli; unfortunately he eventually won two Superbowls. I sure hope this kid has a long and unsuccessful career.

I agree WOU, Tiki is the Giants Offense. I'm not saying they'll completely fall apart next year but it's going to be interesting to see the Giants evolve into a more pass-first type of team.

Losing Edge didn't hurt Peyton at all. We'll see how Eli responds...

No, he did not.

I just think he looks like Goober Pyle. So, that's my nickname for him. Not hatin' on him. He has potential for sure. He just reminds me of Goober.

I'm not so sure that happens just because Tiki leaves. If anything, they may become more of a power team with Brandon Jacobs. Sure, they will throw the ball but it won't become primary for them because Tiki is gone. Jacobs looks like the real deal.

This is great spin. You will lose a top 3 RB in the NFL and won't miss a beat?

Right.

Where in my post do I say the Giants won't miss a beat after losing Tiki?

But they aren't going to be the 25th ranked offense either. Barber will be missed, a lot. But I have a lot of confidence in Brandon Jacobs. But that is only from seeing him play at the goal line. I hope he can play like that for a whole game and a whole season.

He might do as well as McNabb, but that would just mean choking in the SuperBowl and having a soup advertisement.

I was a big fan of Brandon Jacobs even at Auburn. Just no room for him to play there. When he went to Southern Illinois, he was a man amoung boys. Having said that, here's what I will tell you. His running style, while effective in his current role, will not last in the NFL. He runs high and he looks for punishment. The real concern I would have with him is that I'm not certain he could last the season if he had to carry 25 to 30 times a game. I like him a lot but I don't think he's the long term answer for you guys. JMO of course.
