I always hate to hear about injuries, especially when career threatening.
Ellis fears career is threatened by Achilles tear

The Dallas Cowboys will play the rest of the season without starting strongside linebacker Grreg Ellis, and the ninth-year veteran pass rusher fears that his career is threatened by the torn Achilles tendon he suffered in Sunday's 27-10 victory over the Arizona Cardinals.
"I'm a realist, always have been, and I know that could have been my last game," said Ellis, who will undergo surgery in coming days and be placed on injured reserve for the rest of the year. "I'm going to work hard and pray hard and try to get back [for 2007]. But it's a bad injury and, at my age, you can't take [a full recovery] for granted."
Ellis, 31, almost certainly will not be fully rehabilitated when the Cowboys begin the offseaon conditioning program next spring and will be challenged just to be ready for training camp. Achilles injuries can take nine to 12 months to rehabilitate.
The injury occurred late in the third quarter and, like most Achilles victims, Ellis noted that he initially felt like he had been kicked in the back of the leg. He was taken off the field on a cart and, after an examination confirmed the injury, returned to the sideline to watch the game's conclusion.
"If it was my last [game]," Ellis said, "I wanted to see as much as I could."
You must commend him for this :applause: . I hope he can come back. :fingersx:
This is Ellis' first season playing linebacker in the 3-4 front. After playing end for eight seasons in a 4-3 alignment, Ellis balked in the offseason when asked to make the switch, and he boycotted much of the minicamp work. But he made a solid transition, posted 4½ sacks in nine games and had three pressures in Sunday's victory.
The former North Carolina star, a first-round choice in the 1998 draft, has appeared in 133 games and has registered 428 tackles, 56½ sacks, 18 forced fumbles, three recoveries and 41 pass deflections. Ellis has been a steady pass rusher from the strong side for much of his career.
It is expected that first-round draft choice bobby carpenter of Ohio State, who replaced Ellis on Sunday, will step into the lineup for the rest of the season.
