I am not exactly sure what his winning pct. is in December, but I know it is very high. Does anyone on this board know? Last year, as we all know, the Skins won all four December games. THIS year, we have 5 December games (which is unusual). Judging by last weeks performance vs. the Panthers, it appears the team is ready for another run....

Well, I haven't actually seen all the numbers, but from what I've read and heard, nobody is better than Gibbs in December...NOBODY...EVER...

Have you heard any of the staff or players mention a run and the possiblility of paloffs?

I am sure they don't want to mention it yet but do you think Gibbs is thinking it? We did it last year so he knows we can do it.

That is if we can ride Betts and Duckett instead of Portis.

i think he is like 83-15 or something like that.

He has the best december record of any current coach in the league.

gibbs' teams seem to get better as the season progresses. however who knows if we can recover from this horrible start.

as of 1990...he was 28-8. you can do the math for the current tenure.

Okay...I looked up the season results for the Redskins for the 1981-1992 seasons, plus the 2004 and 2005 seasons. Below is Gibbs' regular-season record in December (and early January) by season.

1981 3-0
1982 4-1
1983 3-0
1984 2-0
1985 3-1
1986 1-2
1987 3-1
1988 1-2
1989 4-0
1990 4-1
1991 3-1*
1992 2-2

2004 3-2
2005 5-0

Gibbs has an overall regular-season record in December (and early January) of 41-13, which is a .759 winning percentage.

The one loss marked with a * is a 24-22 loss to the Eagles in the last week of the 1991 season, when the Redskins had locked up home-field advantage and had rested their starters.

So...does any other coach have better than .759 down the stretch?

Gibbs owns december. But I'm worried that Falcons are on a 4 game loosing streak and they are do for a win. Also this teams seems to let down after a big win. Hopefuly they want do that sunday.

This was discussed last week here:

http://www.extremeskins.com/forums/showthread.php?t=182010&highlight=september+october+november+december

When I looked it up, I came up with .761, but I didn't include January.

A nice run would be good...

Thanks for the info everyone....this is precisely what I thought. His teams are the best ever in the month of december. Don't be TOO surprised if JG's 2006 Redskins finish strong with 5 december games.

Gibbs said it himself in his presser Yesterday....The team knows it and im sure they talk about it...

The only place where it is forbidden to even sepak about the playoffs is around here
And that really puzzles me...

we need to totally demolish the Falcons to get that high from the game that will, hopefully, carry over next week.

I think it's that some idiot, er, fellow extremeskins member, wrote "paloffs" in the subject line of one of the many playoff threads...
