"hmm" nothing - we're the REDSKINS - period. Like others have said, its a name that is supposed to be prideful and indicitive of the spirit of your team. You wouldn't want to call yourself something derogatory like "Hey I play for the *** Wipes".

Anyway, if we start on the changing names subject, about half of the teams in existence would have to look for new names. How do Irish folks feel about Notre Dame or the Boston Basketball franchise? What about those whose ancestors actually were Vikings, should they be offended by Minnesota? Speaking of Minnesota, every twin in the world should be in an uproar over their name as well huh?

If we had to change our name, than most other teams should have to change their names as well. Then we would have the most unoffensive, bland, and boring names in existence.

I think you're partly wrong on this. Not Groening, but I think The Simpsons writers are involved. The commentary is too good and too in character. Or else the "random FOX Sports employee" is pretty damn good.

This is the second time the Simpson picks have based our supposedly "racist" team name. This is ridiculous. Redskins is not racist. In fact I believe it to be an honor for Native Americans to have the team in the Nation's captiol honoring the strength and dignity of the American Indian. Wouldn't be more insulting if we changed our name to the Colonists?

We have won 4 games and lost 7, therefore if you pick us to lose every game you're not doing to bad.

And I wasn't just picking on you, I said, "many people" seem to jump all over or get mad when some sports writer picks us to lose.

My optimism or lack there of dosen't win or lose games for the Redskins.

I thought we would beat the Titans at home, we didn't.

I didn't think we'd beat the Jaguars, we did.
