i know alotta fans of other teams(i can't believe people actually cheer for other teams but that's there problem not ours)that would really be interested in hanging here but fedex field is to hardcore redskin for them.they lurk all the time but they've seen the bashing "others" take(and rightfully so) so they were wondering if you (the moderators) could set up a neutral place for the "outsiders" to hang there hats in peace.i know theres the tailgate but it seems to be reserved for nonfootball talk.could call it NEUTRAL GROUND for outsiders???or something like that.

To be honest, wayne, I think the way we have it set up now is precisely how it should be on an Extreme Redskins site. I came here because I was pretty sure the content would be decidedly pro-Redskin. I like that it is. :)

As far as the bashing of other posters, I don't think anyone would argue that the only visiting posters who get bashed are ones who invite it. I don't know that I've ever seen another board where opposing fans who show up with an actual "football content" post, written without obvious flamage and/or bald posturing, are welcomed with as many "welcome aboard's" and above-board responses as they are here.

Show up like Giantsarecoming, you'll get your arse handed to you. Show up like the guy from the Green Bay board whose name escapes me now, and you'll be a welcomed and appreciated guest.

Maybe I'm naive, but I still believe the internet should be like real life. You don't walk into someone else's house, climb up on the table, and start insulting the decor and the kids and the dog without expecting the owner to take exception and lay hands on you.

This is OUR house. We like company. But we expect our company to wipe their damn feet before coming in and NOT help themselves to our women and the last beer.

So I guess what I'm saying is ... the kind of lurkers and fans of other teams that are valued here -- guys like Dale and Tom and One Dollar and the good Big Easy and a few others -- know full well to show up with a sixpack of their own to add to the ice bucket, maybe even bring a plate of wings, and if NOTHING else, to at least flush the toilet when they're done.

Those guys know how to survive and prosper on FedEx, and so they are welcome guests and adopted sons. The guys and gals that don't ... I say we don't want 'em anyway.

Just my off-the-cuff thoughts.

I totally agree with OM here. However, there certainly is a different perspective that might not have been considered.

No matter how cordial visiting fans can be in the the FedEx Field forum... I certainly wouldn't want to see it cluddered with general NFL talk? No matter how much we love Tom.... how many new Giants threads would you stand for before it was time to remind him *this* is a Skins site afterall?

And Wayne's correct... the Tailgate has become more of hotspot for non-football related posts. Which is fine by me as well.

Perhaps an "Around the NFL" forum would be appropriate? It certainly wouldn't take much effort to create a new forum. Maybe Wayne could moderate it as well? I'll run it by the staff and reply within this thread as soon as we come up with something definitive.

Thanks for the suggestion.
